WLS nutrition class
The required nutrition class I attended yesterday for my upcoming Lap Band surgery was VERY interesting and informative! EVERYONE should attend a class like this whether they are having surgery or not. I LOVE the little sippy cup and mini spoon they gave me. They also gave me two one ounce cups to measure my food in. You should have seen my husband's eyes when I told him that was how much food I was going to be able to eat for a meal. He wanted to know how I wasn't going to starve to death!
Once again, I found myself looking around the room at all the other pre-opers, and started thinking, "THIS IS REAL! I am gonna DO this! And it's coming up fast! Holy CRAP! I told my BFF Terri, who accompanied me to the class, that I knew I was gonna be a poster child for lap banding because I was such a WUSSY about feeling uncomfortable that I would only do something naughty ONE time. And I might even be too chicken to do that!
I am VERY sensitive to how my body feels at any given time and I DO NOT LIKE to feel ANYTHING out of order. I don't like feeling uncomfortable and I REALLY don't like to PUKE! I am a spastic puker. I'm someone who has great anxiety right before I do. I will do EVERYTHING in my power to NEVER puke..
I am getting excited. Even though it is not required by my surgeon, I am going to start a liquid protein diet Monday. I have about 2 weeks till surgery and I would like to lose a few pounds before hand. I also want to get myself psyched up and accustom to drinking lots. I will have a small solid meal once a day, to practice chewing, chewing, chewing! And the rest of the time I will be downing the protein, shooting for about 75 MG a day. I don't know how much exersize I can get with my back but I am gonna try to ride the stationary bike every afternoon after work. I'm sure that will help! I REALLY want this to work. And I am MORE than ready to get started and get this going! My choice to do this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with how I LOOK. I am all about LIVING and WALKING. But if I look better, well that will be icing on the cake! :-) Thanks for letting me ramble on... I do that when I get excited!
