Holiday World/Splashin' Safari

I know that there are events planned throughout the year to get together and do things...like the camping trip in the fall.  I'm wondering if anyone is interested in getting a bunch of people together and go to Holiday World/Splashin' Safari.  I work for Spencer County's economic development corporation so I know the Koch family pretty well.  I could probably get us group discounts.   I can probably get hotel discounts too but will have to plan it in advance to get these. It's just a thought.  One of my goals with this surgery was to be able to ride the Voyage (their newest roller coaster) and I plan to do it this summer!   Anyone interested?  If so, give me some relative dates.  I think we could get a better discount if we do it early in the season.

Another thought, since we're so far south, we could even invite Kentucky and Illinois OHers.  It may be a chance to make some new friends! Jacqui

My family would love it, but I can't say yes for sure til I see if we have the time & money.  But, I'll be sure to follow the posts.  If it starts to come together, I will definitely try to work it into our budget.

I just emailed Holiday World to see if they are interested in helping me coordinate this.  I mentioned opening it up to the whole OH website.   Ms. Koch, the lady who does all of the Holiday World/Splashin' Safari commercials and the "matriarch" of the Koch family (she hates to be called that) is such a wonderful person.  She has been a great source of encouragement for me.  Not only through bariatric surgery but through other areas of my life.  She is truly an amazing woman of God.  I think she would love to have us at Holiday World.   I'm going to keep working on this.  I think it could turn out to be something grand. You can count on us to be there.  I'll need a partner for the roller coasters though because Floyd hates them.  He likes the water rides and I don't though so he'll be looking for some partners too.  Sherri and Bill have already invited us to go with them when they go there camping this summer so maybe the dates can work out.  If not I'm sure we can go twice.  We love the parks. We just did 3 Disney parks last month while we were in Florida. I think the sooner you can nail down the date and cost, the more people will be able to plan for it.  You know asking for time off and all that stuff for those of us that work.  Right now the only weekend we will not be available is 14 June because I'll be in Ohio at a training class for 2 weeks. I have never rode a roller coaster ever because I've always been too fat to fit or atleast scared I wouldn't fit I'd definitely be interested in it sometime this summer maybe?

I would love too and would definately need a motel! If the price/dates are right, count 3 more in!!!! My sister is wls also and loves to come to Holiday World, she would probably do it also, that is at least 4 more! WOO HOO!!! Thanks Jacqui- this will be so much fun!!! Hugz Dawn

OMG! I love holiday world, and I am a coaster fanatic!  Ms. Koch is wonderful, I speak to her almost everytime I go there!  She is such a wonderful lady.  I currently can't fit in many rollercoasters, and I would so love to go on voyage!  Maybe if this years is good, I will be able to go to next years :)

Hey there are a few that probally won't ride the coasters also, I know my DH won't! You should come along just to hang out if nothing else if you feel up to it hon.

Jacqui, As long as it's on the weekend, it'd be no problem for us. If it's during the week, we'll PROBABLY be able to go  too...but it all depends on what I am involved with at work at that time. I'll have plenty of vacation time to use up at least...lol. We will most likely stay at Camp Rudolf so any discount there would be fantastic too! We usually take our grandson to Holiday World every summer but he's been a little whiney lately & that gets on Bill's nerves so unless he knocks it off REAL quick and/or if our oldest granddaughter doesn't get the hang of potty training down to a fine art, it'll just be us grown ups! We've never been there without kids so it'd be fun to check out the big people rides! LOL! Sherri ps...we are hoping that during the summer folks can also meet at Hope's KOA and at Indiana Beach. We had a terrific time at both last summer!
