Hope and Camping

I have been so busy lately I haven't had time to be on here.  I was wondering if anyone has heard from Hope on how Peter is doing.  How about a camp out this year?  Anyone up for one either at Hope's or somewhere else?  I couldn't make last years so I'm hoping we can do one again this year.  It sounded like so much fun.  I listed our RV on RV trader on line a week ago Wed. On thurs I had a call from upstate NY and thursday calls from Wisconsin and Nebraska.  The people from Lincoln Ne drove here last Saturday and put a down payment on it.  They are coming back by train tomorrow night to drive it home on Sunday.  Still gettting calls for it but I don't want to cancel the add until they actually come with the check.  We bought a new 2008 Winnebago View.  It has a 6 cyl mercedes gas engine. Supposed to get 14 mpg.  It has 3X the space the Rialta had.  I can't wait to take it out for a shake down run. I'm like a kid with a new toy.  I'll attach a pic to my files of the old and new sitting in our driveway. Happy Friday!

We are big time campers.  Our camper is old though.  We call it the ghetto camper...lol!  It's a 26 ft 1985 Tioga Arrow.  My husband hates to drive it but I love it.  We used to go tent camping until I found a spider about the size of a dinner plate crawling up the wall of the tent.  That was the last time I slept in a tent!  If we do the campout this year at Hope's place, and I really hope we do, we may just rent one of the cabins.  It may be cheaper than driving this monster all the way up there.  Gas prices are UNREAL!  I hope someone takes over this one and does some planning.  I know Hope and Peter are going through a lot so maybe someone else can do the coordinating.  We should probably wait until Peter's procedures are finished though so he'll feel like participating. Just my thoughts.  I'm rambling as usual. Thanks for bringing it up! jacqui

Jan, The last update I got from Hope was on the 5th day after Peter got the bone marrow transplant. He is very tired, and weak..to be expected. It will probably be 10 more days before his blood count starts improving..as it is still greatly reduced and dropping due to all the chemo & radiation in preparation for the transplant. I haven't pushed Hope for a date just yet. She knows that we all really enjoyed the Middlebury festival...okay, it was just something to do and for some of us city folk, it was VERY different being able to see all the horse, buggies, and bonnets. At that time, the date hadn't been set yet for the festival. I will keep track of when she is going to be home, and ask her at that time to check on possible dates for us. Last year, it was the 1st Saturday in August. That wouldn't work for many of us this year because that is our Jodi's wedding date and we are NOT missing that! Jacqui..Hope & Peter own the KOA there. They had given us a rate that was ~$10 less per night. Bill & I will also be checking to see if the Indiana Beach Campgrounds has any special rates for groups. We loved going there...the campground & the park. Both were just so relaxing & laid-back. Okay..now for what I REALLY want to know! MORE DETAILS! Tell me about that new baby of yours! How long is she? Do you have any slide-outs? A class, C class, 5th wheel, Travel Trailor??? Details honey! Details! Congrats! I KNOW you are going to absolutely love it! Sherri

Jacqui, From what we have heard, Indiana Beach is under new ownership..so..we are REALLY, REALLY hoping that the new owners will look at how some of the other amusement parks are operated and start offering seasonal passes. As soon as we hear something, I'll be sure to post it! Sherri

Well hello there friends!!  Nice to have a moment to peek at the board and see my name up there (even if it's not in lights!). Peter is doing well as can be expected, and I'm at the KOA right now working (hope to go back to Indy tomorrow, lets do lunch Indy friends, tues or wed, call me). Peter is very tired, sick (diareah, etc) and has a nasty rash again. His cell counts are dropping, and this week he's had platelets 4 times. I have the dates for the Middlebury Summer Festival - 8/8&9 so if you want to have a campout then that's cool with me,  we BETTER be back from the hospital by then (we're hoping first part of June). The Fall festival is 9/19&20, if the August festival doesn't work for some. We can have 2 campouts, OK with me, I'll be here! Sherri, e-mail me an I will get you back with all the $$ info, and we will give a discount again this year. I'll let you get the post out since I don't get very many opportunities to post. Jan, it's always fun to take the new rig out for a shakedown! Definately a new toy for sure! Jaqui (sp) Peter wouldn't be able to participate even though he's home cuz he's stuck in the house for 6 months, can't be around campfire smoke, dirt, animal doo-doo, and general yuckies in the world for 180 days after he gets out of the hospital. BUT I will get to have fun and tell him all about it! Besides, I could use the break then anyway. OK, so I've used lots of colors and smileys, it's good to be back for a bit! I'm gonna poke around the baord for a few minuts, so you may see me pop up on another post! TTFN! Hope
For if God is with us, who (what) shall be against us?
