I got the verbal approval today!  Letters are in the mail.  What was your average wait time between the time you got your approval and your surgery date.  I am with Dr. C at St. V Carmel. Thanks.

I also had Dr. C,  I was approved around March 7th and they had me initially set for April 17th.....but had other obligations I had to get done.  So May 8th it was.....the time will fly by, no matter when it is......you will find that it will go by very quickly.   It just depends if you have anything in your schedule already that you need to work around. Just hang on for an awesome ride........ The hardest part is behind you.....approval is a big hurdle!!!!!! Please call me if you have any questions......do you need an Angel?  I live over an hour away, but would definitely be glad to be there for you...... Hugs, Holly

From the time that THEY get the written approval & you find out when your surgery will be is usually ~2 weeks. The surgery date itself will probably be ~6 weeks after they call you with the date...so...~8 weeks from now. It seems like the hardest thing to be patient with is waiting for them to call you with the date after you know you've been approved. Just keep in mind that Heather has to do ALL of the scheduling for ALL of the surgeons for ALL the different types of surgeries that they do. It seems like the time from when you get the date..to when the date arrives, flies by!  Congrats on getting approved...and welcome to the board!  Sherri

I'm not as lucky as all of you...I have Dr. Inman and I'm really not sure what the deal was but i was approved around the middle of March...and I just got the official call on Wednesday that my surgery date isn't until July 15, 2008. I can't believe it is 3 months away...never thought I would have to wait that long...she must be really popular or something....

Thanks for the reply!  I got the letters over the weekend so I am going to follow up on Monday.  I have found that follow up is the key! It took 6 weeks of trying to get the paperwork in the right hands at Anthem, once I did it only took 45 minutes to get the approval, rather wild!  But if I had not called every day trying to get it in the right hands it never would ahve gotten done.   Again, thanks for the notes. I will keep you all posted.
