earthquake!!!!

Oh yeah....we felt it and heard it....twice! I wasn't sure what it was at first. I had the windows open and first thought there was a storm because things started falling off the walls and shelves. Then Troy woke up and shot out of bed screaming "Whoa Whoa Whoa!!!" I acted all cool and said it's just the wind and Troy said to look out the window....there was no wind. It was still going on though. I can't believe how long it lasted! Our daughter came running in screaming and said, "I think it's an earthquake!" I hadn't even thought of an earthquake until she said that. We settled down in the living room and an after shock started almost immediately. The dishes in my china cabinet were rattling. Troy went over to it and put his hand on it. The after shock didn't last as long but it was longer than I would've expected. I turned on the tv and they were reporting an earthquake. Troy went ahead and got ready for work and our daughter and I went to lay down in my bed. I asked her how she knew it was an earthquake and she said Jack and Annie went through one in one of her "Magic Treehouse" books. She's such a smart kid! We did a quick assessment of the house and it doesn't look like there's any damage. Chimney is fine. Gas line is fine. Just had one thing break that fell off a shelf. Makes for an interesting story anyway. It was only 4:35 when it happened so I know we're all going to be sleepy tonight! Julie (Jules) called me to make sure we were alright. It sure made me feel good knowing someone was concerned about us. What good buddies I have here. Smooches, jacqui

I slept through it...imagine that! Our whole house did! Having a new baby has exhausted all of us so we grab sleep when we can and it was embraced with alot of enthusiasm last night. We also slept with the windows open in our room and that just makes me sleep deeper! So now my kids are right when they say I could sleep through an earthquake.
