Anyone have any experience with this surgeon or the Schneck Medical? I have already been to my consultation at Carmel but I am trying to find something closer to where I live.  Thanks! :)

I've heard excellent things about Dr. Cooper. He's got an amazing reputation as a general surgeon and a bariatric surgeon. Schneck is a decent hospital when your inpatient but go to the ER and it's a mess. To be honest I've had a lot of dehydration issues and just issues in general and they couldn't even handle something as simple as calling my surgeon and giving me fluids. Now that they're doing bariatrics I don't know how much it's improved but I still would stick to Carmel or maybe even try Louisville.

Thanks for the advice. I do have to say though, that I have been so impressed by everyone I have talked to there so far. They have been so helpful and nice. Such great personalities. Better then what I experienced at Carmel. Not that they were bad, maybe just too busy and hurried. Not a lot of attention personally. So far Dr. Coopers office/staff has been wonderful! I will let yall know how it goes, as it stands now I am definitely going with Dr. Cooper.

Like I said that is just my opinion! I've heard nothing but outstanding things bout Dr. Cooper and his staff. It's just the hospital ER should you have a problem.

Misty, I meant no offense, hope none was taken. :) I just wanted to let others know what kind of experience Ive had with Dr. Coopers office so far. Hopefully I wont have any complications but if I do, I probably wont have to go to to their ER, since its still about 80 miles away for me. But I will always keep that in mind. Thanks again, I was able to tell Dh, that he had a good reputation based on what you said. That always helps!!

i grew up around seymour, and i was recently hospitalized at schneck. I went home to go to a funeral, but i had an upper respiratory infection that didn't allow me to breathe. because of a previous illness with blood clots and 72 hours of coughing/104+ fever, and inablitily to breathe, i had to go to the er then icu then a regular floor. the regular floor was phenomenal. the new rooms are absolutely beautiful and quiet and quite frankly a little nicer than the rooms at st. vincents. i was rather surprised cause i remember this hospital being a total dump when i was a little girl. anyway, the icu wasn't too bad, but i knew i didn't have a blood clot and so did the nurses so i was totally ignored there. and the er. oh yeah, i totally back up what misty is saying. their er sucks. it's been 2 months and i still have the marks on my arm from the iv. the stabilizer they used ripped off my skin, and you can still see where the iv needle was. and if the radiation tech on duty had properly performed my ct scan, i never would have went to the icu in the first place or required this super expensive lung test that made me suck in radioactive gas. needless to say, i don't like their er either.
