Pretesting results and question

Everything went wonderfully on pretesting day.  Everyone was sooo nice.   The class was very informative...although I new almost everything already from reading everyone's posts on here. Right now I am starting to get a little anxious about the shots and what kind of protein to use.  I also receive results from my gallbladder ultrasound .....I have a polyp in my gallbladder.  I have researched it, and really just want it to be taken out when my surgery is done.  I mean why leave it??    I just don't see why anyone would want to just leave something that could possibly turn into cancer even if the chance is slim.  Especially, if they are already having a surgery in that area. Has anyone ever had a gallbladder polyp?  If so did they just take it during surgery?  kim

Does your surgeon know about the polyp?  I would would ask your surgeon if your gall bladder can just be taken out at the same time. Never hurts to ask.  I really learned a lot in the nut class.  The shots arent so bad. They dont even hurt, if you cant do it yourself just have someone that can do it for you.

My pre-op gall bladder ultrasound showed that my gall bladder was "diseased."  I didn't know that until the morning of surgery, although I suspected that something was up when they called in a second tech to "verify the findings" of the first tech. Dr. Inman  came in right before surgery and said that she would be removing my gall bladder also.  I asked her why she didn't tell me before when she found out the results.  She said that me knowing about it would not have changed her course of action (it needed to be removed) and it would just cause me extra worry at a time when I didn't need it. I got a "two-fer", gastric bypass and gall bladder removal all for the price of one!

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

don't worry about the shots. just ask a nurse to show you how to do it. i asked, and the next time i needed a shot, she watched me do it myself. i hate needles, and i could do it. don't fret. don't worry about the protein until it becomes a problem. you'll just waste money. start with the milk/nonfat milk stuff they tell you then go from there when that doesn't work anymore. and remember, that your tastes will change. i didn't believe it until i was faced with it. i was a chocoholic before my surgery. now it's all i can do to look at it in order to choke down a chocolate low-carb slimfast. as for your gallbladder, i knew i was having issues with mine for several years and no one believed me. i told dr. evanson to just take it out, but he wouldn't do it unless it was necessary. yeah, should have bet him $100 (would have covered the surgeon copay from insurance. lol!). first thing post op he told me mom was that i was right. it was "rather diseased." it was the wrong size, shape, and color. so, when they get in there, and the surgeon doesn't like it, they will take it out. just make sure they know there is a polyp there. remind them day of surgery too. now as for anything else, don't get yourself in a tizzy. worrying too much will get you all tense and slow down your recovery. deep breaths. the world isn't going to end. you're gonna be able to take on the world when you're post op.

Thanks to all of you for your comforting words.  I did call Inman's office, but they acted as if it was nothing.  Said she would have a look at it, and possibly take it out if it looked bad. Thanks again Kim

Hi Kim, I am having my surgery on the same day as you!  Are you going to St. V's?  I had my pretesting today.  I'm with you, (I knew alot from reading posts).  I have never had a polyp, but I already had my gallbladder removed. Well I hope I get to meet you on our surgery day!  Good luck with your journey! Sherry
