2 weeks just to schedule

I know I remember reading this same post before, but I am amazed that it takes two weeks just for them to call me and start the process of scheduling.  The have my paperwork, not its another sit and wait game.  If all dr. offices are taht busy you would think they would be adding staff to accommodate the workload.  I am sure they know that we have already gone through 2-4 months of sit and waiting and now we have to wait again. I am sure there are logisitcs on their end but I had to have knee surgery a year ago and it took them all of 4 hours to call me and get me scheduled. Does it really take them 2 weeks to call you just to schedule or is it like when you order a pizza and they tell you an hour for delivery and it take 30 mins? Sorry I just had to vent. Thanks for listening!

The Dr. offices are extremely busy with everything, and everyone.  It is much easier if you call the Surgery scheduler yourself....you might get somewhere with that.......once SHE gets the word you are approved, then she will get you a date!!!!  That was what I did!!!!!  Good Luck....and just remember, the hardest part is behind you...... Once you get the date you're on a whirlwind.  Every thing starts to fly.  My date was one month from the call date.  You have pre op tests and pre op class to schedule.  As soon as you get that date, it's worth the wait.

Thanks Holly, I will try that.  I hate to be a pest, but if I learned one thing from the Insurance battle...follow up is the key! I guess whats the worst they can tell me?!?!?!?

Kim, My surgeon is in the same group as yours, and it took Heather 1 1/2 weeks to call me.  Once she called and set the date, it all went very fast!  I got the call last Thursday and had my pro op classs today.  I have my pre op test this Thursday.
