I need advice, lap band or RNY ?
Sherri,
Thanks for the advice, I know my insurance covers both the rny and the lap. I went to the surgeons consult and asked questions about both surgeries, still not sure. Then I went to U Tube to watch the surgery (rny) being beformed. I also watched one of the members journey on u tube. One minute I want the RNY and then I read some of the things on here and then I want the lap band. I am 50 and have been over weight for at least 20 years now. I have to tell you that I lean to the lap band only because of shorter hospital and shorter recovery. I don't like the idea of neddles and when I have read some of the posts about not being able to find the port for a fill scares me. But what really scares me is being a failure at yet another attempt to get healthy and begin to live my life as god has intended me to do. So back and forth, I can wait a year to loose the weight and even two years if that is what it takes with the lap, but I am scared I won't get enough restriction from the lap to be a real loser.
I do appreciate your time to share with me your thoughts, I have been on here a lot and I have read what you have gone threw, and I don't think I could be as strong as you are. Hopefully I won't have to find out. I have to make my mind up soon, so that is all I have been thinking about.
Thanks again, Tracey
