Middlebury KOA camp

I made my reservations for the August 8 & 9 campout.  Not to thrilled with the spot they gave me but if it is close to you all I'll keep it.   They put me in 18 which is on a corner by the rec hall.  I'm afraid it will be high traffic area. Who all has signed up for this weekend and do you know what lot number you are in?

Jan, We haven't made our reservations yet. Did you  tell whoever that answered the phone that you are part of the weight-loss group that Hope belongs to (you get a discount that way too)? Maybe Hope was thinking that we'd all prefer to be by the rec hall so we can kinda take it over. Is 18 a back-in? I DEFINATELY need a pull through! The last I heard, Hope & Peter are back in Indy (some little glitches in his road to recovery). After they get back, I'm sure Hope will send me another update. I'll let you know when she does. After that, you might want to drop her a line about the location. Unless they are totally booked solid, she can probably arrange things a little different. Last year, we were at a good location..toward the run and just accross from the cabins (which made it good for our cabin campers).    Sherri

Jan, I just went to the KOA site. It looks like they probably plan to group us at about the same location. I think we were at 25 and Ellen at 24. Brenda & Floyd were at K1 or K2 I think. It worked out prtty good. It looks like 18 would be kinda accross from us....so really, pretty good set up really. There really wasn't much traffic at all when we were there last year..and the same festival was going on that will be going on this year. Sherri

It was Monday when I called and I talked to Peter's  son when I made the reservation.  I did tell them it was with the OH group and he said I would be close to you. I asked  if Hope and Peter  were back from Indy how he was doing and he said they were only in Indy 1 night and were back and he was doing OK.  He said he was taking him back down to Indy either today or tomorrow.   18 is a back in and since we are only 25ft it should be OK. I'd rather have a pull thrugh spot just so that we'd have extra room to park the car.  18 looks like it is pretty close.  Tim will probably drive up separatly and need a place to park.  We can make it work.  We were way in the back last year on top the hill in 89 and liked that spot.

Jan, Thanks for letting me know that Peter is back home.   Yeah..backing in when we had the 27' wasn't bad..with 35' though, I definately want a pull-through! LOL! It seems like there was some extra parking over by the BB court/rec area. I'm just waiting to find out for sure something from the docs before we make our reservation. I think Bill is gonna go ahead and make the reservation for Holiday World because I doubt they actually DO something about whatever they find out by then anyway. Now..we're just trying to decide...get a suite and have the SUV...or spend the extra $ for gas and have all of the comforts of home in the RV. Decisions! LOL! Sherri

Alright everyone!!! This non-camper has made reservations for a cabin for Saturday night. We aren't going to be able to come Friday night since Bill works afternoon and we wouldn't be able to get there. So we are getting up early Saturday morning and coming up. I am not sure how far it is but I figure at least 1 or 1 and half hours. I am not good on stuff like that! We are getting cabin 3 as of now but was told that it might change depending on where everyone is going to be. I beleive that I was told there is only 2 more cabins left. So if someone is wanting one they better get their reservation in. I am so looking forward to this. I hate to camp but the cabin is just my speed. I do like to sit around campfires and do all the other fun stuff.

Looking forward to meeting you Brenda.  I missed this last year but I heard what a great time they all had.  Hope we have a big turnout.  Hey any Eucher players out there?

Brenda, I too am looking forward to meeting you! I think these things are SO much fun!! Ellen's hubby Dana does a very nice camp fire!                 

Jan...It has been ages, but I use to be fairly good at Euchre. Well, I enjoyed it anyhow! LOL! Bill isn't much for Euchre. He's more of a poker player. lol.                         Sherri

Hi there camping buddies!!!  Well, got our reservation in, and they are going to fill up quick! Get yours in soon, folks- only 1 cabin left, & a few sites. They do have tent camping areas, if you'd like to do that.  Jan, we'll be in site 25, across the lane from you- just a few steps away! I am so looking forward to meeting you, Brenda, & your guys! the little festival/parade is nice, & so is the shopping- Shippshawana isn't too far away, plus a great whole foods store Brenda & Floyd found last yr.

Ellen, Thanks so much for the personal about making reservations.  Too bad I haven't been keeping up on the boards......appears it does cause problems.  I spoke with Hope and she has a cabin for us for Friday night but not on Saturday so we may not be camping the weekend with you guys.  She's putting us on a waiting list in case one opens up for Saturday.  I'll check to see if we can find a motel that will take a small dog as a back up.  Otherwise, it may be a short weekend for us. Floyd
