Clothes Shopping is FUN now!

I got four Elder-Beerman gift cards for Christmas, and they're having a great sale right now, so my mom and I went this afternoon. Man, it's fun to shop in the misses sizes! I still get XL, but that's a far cry from 4X and 5X!! I got a beautiful sweater, a white turtleneck sweater, and two pairs of pants and didn't have to pay a dime! I still have one card left, too, I think I'll save that to get warm weather clothes. It's really hard not to get my clothes too big, I'm still self conscious enough that I want to "hide" under big shirts like I used to. I made myself get the smaller sizes, though. I've got enough big, baggy stuff and I look so much better in clothes that fit me.

I used to dread shopping and usually did it online, but I had a ball this afternoon!

I am happy for ya girl!  I haven't done too much shopping yet.  I am still having issues with realizing my size.  I still want to get the 3x and 4x stuff and then I try on sizes until I see that XL really does fit me now.  So, I am holding off until I get a job and know what kind of clothes I will be needed.

You enjoy all of those shopping trips with your mom and the new you!  You deserve it!
Huge hugs,

Tracy

Jenny,

I get what you are saying about the clothes coming from 28/32's myself.  I went Friday to JCPennys because they had cords on sale for $10 until 1 pm.  I got LOST trying to find my size...I'm so used to going to the plus sizes tried on the 16's thinking they'd be tight and they weren't.  I had to ask the sales clerk where I'd find 14's located.  Of course then I felt like I needed to explain myself and luckily she'd had surgery to and was able to celebrate a little with me on the way to the little sizes.  I was so excited I called my Mom from the dressing room to tell her I was wearing 14's!  I know I'm a dork but I can live with that! LOL

Here's to shopping for smaller sizes in the future!!

Fourteens! Wow, I'm looking forward to that. I'm not buying jeans and stuff yet as I'm losing steadily and wouldn't be in them for very long, but I can't wait to buy some cool jeans to wear! I can't wait until summer when I should be close to goal and can buy some pretty clothes. Don't know if I'll have the guts to wear shorts, I haven't worn them since I can remember. We'll see!

Congratulations...and you ain't a dork!

I don't normally buy stuff at full price either because I'm still loosing weight also BUT I'm about to let you in on my little secret...shh!...come closer...closer...don't tell anyone what I'm about to share... the Goodwill is one of the best kept secrets around!  Between the Goodwill and Sophie's Emporium a consignment shop here in Anderson I keep myself clothed.  Just say no to nekkid!  LOL

Seriously though $3.99 for sweaters and $5.99 for pants - can't beat those prices and as long as they'll hold me over until the next clothing exchange all is good.  Which I haven't been to any of the exchanges but I'm looking forward to going to the one next month.

We have a Goodwill here in town but I've never gone there because I could never find anything to fit me...I guess I could now! I've just been buying athletic type pants...they fit snugly, and so far they fit for a long time because they're so stretchy. And COMFORTABLE. Sales are my best friend...the ones I got yesterday had been $40.00 & I got them for $20.00. They're XLs and the waist is a little loose, but the rest fits okay and I think I'll be able to wear them for a few months anyway. I will check out Goodwill, thanks for the tip!
