Working out

Just wondering if anyone around the Avon, Plainfield, Brownsburg area works out anywhere? I'm looking forward to getting the go ahead to really start working out when I go to my post op appt next week. I don't mind working out, but it's so much better if you have a friend to do it with. I plan on joining a gym somewhere, and would prefer somewhere that has childcare so that I can work out during the day and take Zachary to play. Seems like when I wait til my husband gets home in the evening too many things to do before the kids bedtime to take time to go work out.

I was going to water aerobics at the Plainfield aquatic center.   My passes are expired now though so at the moment I am without an exercise program.  Let me know where you end up joining and I would love to to exercise with you when I can.

You should get the go ahead next week.  I did yesterday.  The dietician wants me to have 150 minutes of exercise whi*****ludes strength training (not weights) per week.  She recommended Curves and said it would be perfect.  I'll probably join the Camby Curves - their workouts are 30 minutes, so I could go 5 days per week.

I return to work on the 20th, so I could go after work each night.

I belonged to Curves for a while. I enjoyed it. I was hoping to get some place that I could do cardio and strength training.

Christie,

I'm drawing a blank here.  I know where the curves is in Mooresville, but I can't think of where the one in Camby is...  I'm not far from there at all, so maybe we could meet up and work out together sometime.  BTW, I enjoyed meeting you and Melissa last night too!

It's in the little strip mall at Camby Rd and 67 - next door to Papa Johns and Dunkin Donuts of all places!!!  LOL

That's right...I remember now.  I drive past there almost every day!  Yeah I can only imagine how difficult it would be to smell the doughnuts and pizza on the way in and out of Curves.

Melissa, BTW, it was great to meet you, MommyLissa and Linda Kay last night at the support group meeting!  It's so nice to put faces to names on a screen!

Melissa,  My husband and I joined the Parkview fitness Center--it is part of Parkview Hospital.  It has every type of machine with even an area like curves.  Also we can attend any classes for free.  Before surgery I was attending a beginning yoga class.  I wondered if the hospital you work for my have something similar....Just a thought...

Thanks Paula. My hospital has a very small workout area, but it's a long drive for me. I have found a gym to join. It's brand new and will be opening the endof the month, perfect timing for me. Thanks!
