There is no one answer for that question, we are all different and we all lose weight differently.  There are lots of factors that determine your weight loss........diet history,  age,  post menopausal,  activity level on and on and on.  I am on month six out from surgery and have lost 98 pounds 33 of which were before surgery, 65 since surgery ...about ten pounds a month consistantly.  I am very happy with ten pounds a month because before surgery I couldn't lose ten pounds in six months.

I agree with Melissa & Jeannie- I was 57 when I had mine, so age made a differance- that & I was having problems with walking. I can ride a bike now, walk on a treasdmill for 30 minutes, & more. -
It is all about using your tool & following the plan. You'll do great- don't compare yourself to anyone else girl! Your body is different that mine- so your loss will be differant, too! GOOD LUCK!!!!!
PS. Say, what is your name???

They're right, everyone's different, and you'll lose at your own pace. But, since you ask, I lost 30 pounds the first month and 20 pounds the second month out.

Typically, the more you have to lose, the quicker it starts falling off. I was 352 lb pre-op and lost 100 lb during my first 6 months. I've now lost clost to 200 lbs. Men alos usually lose quicker than women. Either gender however, you will most likely lose the majority of your excess weight during your first year post-op...the honeymoon stage. Afer that, you can conitinue to lose (at a slower rate) but you have to have developed some healthy lifestyle changes by then.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up into what others lose. Our bodies are unique to us as individuals. Comparring ourselves to others could cause a person to get frustrated. Just do what the doc & nut tells you and you will do fine!
