Just spoke with Terry

They are at St. Vincent's ICU. They are actively cooling Lyn's body in an effort to reduce any brain damage that might occur. The neurologist can't give her any prognosis at this time. The good news was that the nurse was in the room when Lyn's breathing and heart stopped and therefore he was not without oxygen. Terry admits to not having eaten anything today and not getting much into to drink. I am going to take a bunch of stuff up to her. She said that at Carmel there was an ice/water machine in the lounge, they dont have that there. So I'm going to take water bottles, crystal light, jello, pudding, and some protein. Any other suggestions? She sounds exhausted and overwhelmed, as we could imagine, so please continue to send up prayers on both their behalfs!

Melissa, you are such an angel.  I am so glad you are going to be there to take things up to her.  Please give her a huge hug from me and tell her I am praying all day.

Thanks for being so thoughtful!  You are a valuable part of our OH family.

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Please give her a big hug for me.
Can she have cheese sticks yet or yogurt.
Walmart has a greek yogurt with 16 grams of protein in it.
Its wonderful that you are helping her.
Thanks Melissa

Does she have anyone with her? I left her a message on her cell phone but haven't heard anything back. I know Sherri said that family was on their way back so I didn't go ahead up to the hospital. Jana

Melissa, thank you for being there for Terry.  I just got home, having left work early due to continued fevers, and just saw what has happened.

Take her some string cheese to nibble to help her get her protein up.  And please give her my love and let her know I am praying for them both.

I can't go up as I'm running a temp - getting sick is the last thing she needs.

Thought about that but she said she doesn't have access to a refrigerator. So I'm taking things that don't have to be kept cold. I'll talk to the nurses when I'm there and see if there is one available and Terry has just been too preoccupied to ask. I will give her everyone's love!

Melissa.... You are a doll!!  How sweet of you to be doing this!  Terry will be ready to collapse if she isn't drinking.  She is too recent from surgery to be not drinking enough.  Please give her my love and support as well.  Lyn needs her to be there for him. So she has to take care of herself too.  God bless them both.
Blessings to you all, Leah

Melissa,

Thank you so much for letting us know. We just got home from all the things Bill needed us to do so I'm going to give Terry a call pretty soon.

You might want to throw some sf pudding cups in there. You don't have to keep them chilled and it would give her some substance at least.  You also might want to check the lunchables to see if there are any that she could have that doesn't require being kept cold.

Thank you again. I know it has to be a big relief for her to know you are coming up there.
