I'm home

I was released from the hospital last night around 8pm.  it was good to sleep in my own bed.  I got to say goodbye to Lisa before I left but I couldn't find Alta.  My guess is she was walking ;-)

My first day home I'm having trouble getting it all in, but from what I've read here that's normal. I just have to do better tomorrow.  It's one day at a time.

Once my drain came out I haven't needed any pain meds at all, so that's good.  I've been able to keep down everything i've eaten so far.  I've been getting my walks in today at home and it a gorgeous day outside.

All in all things are going well. I have to admit that I feel slightly different. I think they may just be my body adjusting to the sugery and my mind trying to fiugre out why I'm not eating like I usually do, but I'm determined to get my mind - body connection working on the right track. It will just take time.

Thanks to Kathy for the visit on Tuesday. It was very nice to know I wasn't all alone.

Here's a weird question....how many liquid oz does the sugar free popsicle translate too? LOL I'm been enjoying those popsicles.

Welcome home Kathy and welcome to the losers bench.  The next couple of months you will have many questions as you work through the process of figuring out how everything works for you.

That being said......... a popsicle only translates to 1 1/2 ounces of liquids, but hey every ounce helps lol.  I came across my schedule that I made out for myself as a newly post op the other day and hung on to it so I will post it for you newly post op girls in a lil bit.  Right now I am just getting home from the services for my grandpa and need to relax its been a hell of a week.

Glad your home and doing well Kathy, all I can say is "what a ride"!  I think my age showed up for this surgery, my initial recovery was a little harder then I had anticipated.  However, today I am feeling much more like me!  Hope you conintue to do well.  Take Care, Dawn

You sound like your doing great!! That mind-body connection thing can be tough. Just always keep in sight and mind why you did this and what your goal is. As you get farther out it gets easier to get everything in. You will work out a schedule for yourself. Just don't push too hard yet and get comfortable with what you are taking into your body. Slowly and surely. And walk, walk, walk.
Welcome aboard girl!!
Be Well  : )
