Hello Everyone!  It has been forever since I have poped onto the forum.  I think I have been on her once since I had my baby in July! I never even posted that I had her oops!  I am back to work this week and so maybe that will give me a little more time to stop in and say Hi and catch up.

Emily will be 13 weeks tomorrow!  She was born July 16th, 7 pounds 13 oz and everything was perfect.  I am with in about 3-5 pounds from my pre baby weight.  Before I was 125, now I hover closer to 130.  I'll take that :)

Anyway below are a few picture of Emily ( first few are newborn pics and the last couple were from last week.)

Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Kim

I am happy for those of you who didn't have to play the waiting game (6 to 18 months) of medically supervised weight loss!

It must be the difference in PCP progress notes and documentation of visits.   I have a BMI of 44, high bp, high lipids, diabetes II, gout, sleep apnea, low thyroid, degenerative disc (two back surgeries) ...I take 13 different medications twice a day...needless to say, I also have depression issues.     What more did they want??

My surgeons office called to tell me about the insurance denial and asked if I felt I "might not live for another 6 months" ...because I could file an emergency appeal.  WHAT!??

I just have to think everything happens for a reason and I had to suck it up and do my 6 months.
3 months down...three to go!

Topic: pre op testing question
Hi everyone,

I have my surgery date!!  It's November 17th.  Since I am 59, they scheduled me for a Cardiac Clearance.  So when I called Dr. See's office today, the billing girl said it was not covered under St. Vincent's pre-op testing.  Since I am a cash payer, that means I will be paying for that $300 - $500 consult.  I assumed there would be a treadmill I would also be paying for.  That is all good and fine.  She also said that sometimes he does "nuclear" testing.  I was shocked.  That will cost thousands.  I have had a nuclear treadmill (Myoview) a couple years ago and there is nothing wrong with my heart.  I think nuclear testing is a little extreme for a pre surgery requirement.  So my question is, has anyone ever had to have a cardiac clearance or hear of anyone having anything nuclear?  I'm getting all my records from my cardiologist so I can show him what I have had.  Maybe I am panicking over nothing.  The appointment is just 9 days before my surgery.

Thanks, Pam

I too have HIP. I didn't have to do a diet at all, in fact it only took about 3 hours for them to approve me and my longest wait was for the surgery date. I am 6 months out so it should noit have changed much.

Welcme!

This group is NEW and (ONLY) for the Men and Women  of Indiana to come and share stories, share hope, and get support from one another through this life changing tool.

I am trying to gather all the members from Indiana and get us together in one GREAT group! There is more than CORN in Indiana there are all the great people who have gone through the many struggles with weight and weight related issues, and now we are or have done something about it!

www.obesityhelp.com/group/theindianahoosierlosers/

Come post some questions, or post about how your surgery has went.

If your new and hoping to have surgery, or you have had it come share and get support and meet some new friends!

If you know of any support groups in your area come post them for ones who may be looking.

Just join and talk about whatever may cross your mind, be it family, surgery, fears, questions, or just to meet new friends maybe around your area.

Hi Melissa!!!    I live in Rockville and am in the process of getting my RNY scheduled before the end of the year at Clarion North.  This website has been so informational!!!!  Maybe we'll meet up at one of the Terre Haute meetings.  They meet the 1st Tuesday of every month.  Is that the meetings you go to?  Sandy
