Topic: Saying Hi AGAIN!
Haven't been around in a while. Had RNY March 2006 and lost 110 pounds in the first 10 months. Then ooops....got pregnant......have a beautiful baby girl and unfortnately now I weigh more than what I did at 9 months pregnant. Need ot lose about 20-25 pounds, possibly more, but that would get me back to where I was pre-pregnancy and I was pretty darned happy. However, I haven't followed the rules very well. But starting today, I'm back on plan. Going back to the basics of liquids for a few days and trying to get my pouch down to size. Really need to stay away from carbonated beverages. Wish me luck. Hope everyone in hoosierland is doing well today!

I am a patient of St Francis although I used Dr Mandelbaum. I have had a wonderful experience with St F's, their aftercare is fantastic and they offer a ton of followup care and resources. They also have impressive statistics.
33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
Topic: RE: Dr. Innman for Revision? Sorry so long...
Dr. Inman was doing revisions from RNY to DS and has done plenty. I'm not sure if she does revisions any longer though

Both of the hospitals here do Lap Band surgery and have support groups. There is also a support group for St. Vincent (Indianapolis) on the 4th Tuesday of the month. I haven't found the groups were picky about where you came from. I went to the Deaconess group a couple of times before St. V had a group and other than a few stares because they had never heard of my surgery it was fine. I would call both hospitals here and explain your situation and I'm sure you could see their doctors for follow up.

Topic: Expecting good news
Last week I completed all of my pre-op labs last Monday (found out they missed one and had to go back on Wednesday) and was told it would take about a week to get a surgery date. This should be the week I hear from them and mark my calendar for the big day!!
I've already bought my vitamins for the first three months...yeah, I'm just a little excited.

I also don't know much about Dr. Clark and St Francis but I also had RNY surgery 3 years ago. I think of myself as a success I am now down to 140# from my all time high of 280# in June 2006 but my official starting weight was 246# in June 2007. I won't kid you though trying to tell you it is a fix all, it is a tool you can use and re-use day after day. But it is only that. You can still overeat and gain all the weight back if YOU allow yourself. I have told many people that I can eat 6-8 ounces every 2 hours ( even the good for a person foods like fruits, sugar free, and fat free ) food and gain weight. I do feel I struggle to maintain my weight but I'm okay with that most days. I am no different than the skinnie minnie that works out at the gym and watches what they eat to maintain their weight. I exercise and eat a sensible plan most every day and have maintained my 140# for the last 2 years. Good Luck to you in your quest.
