Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and I'm really glad I found you. I have a question about pain from the band post-surgery. I just had my surgery on Monday and as long as I take my meds I'm ok to sit here or to lay down, or even to walk around. It's just that the transition from laying to sitting or sitting to standing is still really painful. And after I stand up I'm still in pain for about 10-15 minutes while walking around. The inscision over my port-cathe often stings or burns. Is this normal? Should I be relying on my meds more? Sometimes I try to pu**** to 5 or 6 hours. Also, it's still a bit uncomfortable to breathe in all the way. Otherwise doing great with a total loss of 9.9 lbs. since Monday morning! Please let me know how you felt during this time.

Carrie, I had my surgery on 11/20. I know exactly how you feel. My only advice is that it gets a little bit better every day. Hang in there. I found that the best thing to do was to keep moving. Even though it hurts .... push through it as much as you can. Rest when you can as well. You will turn the corner. Congratulations on the weight loss! 9 pounds is AWESOME! Let me know if I can answer any questions. I am 1 week ahead of you.

Hi Carrie! Congratulations on your weight loss so far. That is terrific! We had our surgeries on the same day. I am not in much pain anymore, just some uncomfortable moments. My left side has really been bothering me. How about yours? It isn't wear an incision is which is weird. I wonder if they just did a lot of work through the incisions on the left and that is why it is so sore. I know the port is in the middle so it isn't it. This mystery pain has me puzzled. But, hang in there. I know you will start to feel better soon. Since we are kind of going through this together, if you every want to email me, feel free. My email is [email protected]. Sara

Hey, I just had my lapband surgery Nov. 30th. Dr. Shina was my doctor.. and I was wondering about that pain too! I am having some pain in my left side as well. And I got the hiccups today and it was the worst pain I've had! My back has been hurting really bad too. I dont know if its from slouching because it hurts to sit up straight or if its from the hospital bed. lol. Its just kinda nice to know that ya'll are going through this too! Congrats on that 9 pound loss.. I hope I'm as successful! Stacy

Good news- today is the first day I have felt pretty normal. The pain really does go away, although my back still hurts. Oh well... and just as I was shopping today and thinking "Wow, I really am feeling better -" BAM!!!- shopping cart into my incision. Now worries - after I recovered I'm still feelin' fine. Hope you are too!
