First Fill

I had my first fill yesterday. It wasn't bad at all. It felt like a shot. I got 1.6 cc in my 4cc band. I have to be on the dreaded liquids again for a couple of days. Tonight, we went and ate at Frisch's. I had potato soup and some cottage cheese. Get this, I COULDN'T EAT IT ALL!! I ate 1/2 of the soup and a few bites of cottage cheese. The waitress thought I was crazy when I asked for containers to take it home. Lol I am happy because this is the first time in over a month that I can honestly say that I was full. I couldn't eat another bite. I was very excited! The doctor's scale says 14 lbs lost since my pre-op visit and 17 lbs from my highest weight. My scale is nicer because I can weight naked and be 19 lbs down. ;) Either way, I didn't expect to lose massive amounts for having Lap Band and being on the "lightweight" side. Lol...Lightweight. That is what Dr. Tom calls me. I love it!! Everyone have a happy holiday!!

That's great Mimi! I bet you will really start to see the weight loss now. I am looking forward to my fill, too. I go on January 2nd. I haven't been feeling full and I really need that. It's good to know that after the fill, you start to feel full. How long do you have to stay on liquids? Have you had any problems with things going down? Good luck with everything! Sara

I have to stay on liquids until Sunday. Then I should be eating pureed/soft. On Monday, I can start trying a regular diet. My doctor says that I won't really feel restriction until about day 3 or 4. I really don't feel it much. I was just happy to feel full enough that I knew I needed to stop eating. That was a great feeling. Good luck to you!

uhhhh maybe I will change my name to dense buddha... what happens when he has 4 cc in the band? Does he replace it or is it a give and take kind of thing? Never really looked into the band so I never thought about it having a limit.

Thats a good question. Actually, I doubt I will ever have 4 cc in my band. That is pretty much for my size. The largest band, I think, is 10 cc. I will stop getting fills once I hit my "sweet spot". When that happens, who knows. I hope you have a good Christmas!!!

Mimi you are so lucky! I can't wait for a fill. Now that I'm on normal foods I have to rely on "willpower" and portion control until I can go in (1 more week). I am so happy that you're full! What a great Christmas present!
