A favorite dish
Why dont we all post a favorite dish we make on here every week. I know I am always looking for something new to make that is low carb and fat and that is tasty.
A desert I make now is
1 box sf pudding
small carton of heavy whipping cream
Whip it all up together and it makes a delicious desert
I have started a new cook book of things I can eat so all of us could add our favorites and soon we would have a lot of new tasty things. I like to make simple things that dont take to long to make and that dont call for items that I dont know what some of them are.lol.
Come on join in ok.
Great idea! Bridget on the main Lap Band message board put together a cookbook and she has a recipe for a really yummy fruity chicken salad. I sort of tweaked it a little bit. I just make enough for myself, but you can easily add stuff to make enough for your whole family.
3 oz. cooked chicken breast, finely chopped
1/8 c. quartered grapes
1/8 c. crushed pineapple
2 tablespoons toasted slivered almonds
2 tablespoons or so of low-fat mayonaise
Mix all together and enjoy. I would obviously suggest this recipe for only those eating solid foods.

Hi Amy Leigh,
I think that is a great ideal! Because right now, I am on phase 2, and some times I feel like I don't have a clue, I am afraid to eat something wrong. I think what White Doe said would be a great ideal also, to make sure we knew what phase these receipes were on, so we could all benefit and enjoy! Your dish sounds yummy! But what stage do I have to be on?

Hi,
My favorite thing since surgery 2 1/2 years ago is my Peanut Butter Pudding/Pie filling.
Depends on your stage as to what you should do. I also add protein to this and it helps to get it all in. I have those little 4 oz cups that I have used since surgery. It's so nice to have it premeasured and handy to have it ready to grab out of the fridge. This took me through MANY highs and lows in the beginning and still helping. ENJOY!!!
PEANUT BUTTER PUDDING/PIE FILLING
You may double this if needed. 1 batch normally makes 6--4oz cups
1 tub of FF Cool Whip-set out for 1 hour to soften
1 block of FF cream cheese-set out for 1 hour to soften
1 tbsp. of vanilla
2 scoops of Unflavored Unjury=makes each 4 oz cup 14 gr. protein
1/8 cup of splenda
2/3 cup of Peanut butter
I nornally mix like the first two then add after the others are blended using a mixer.
This is yummy. Very filling for beginners and satisfying for us older post ops and it helps with the protein.
Any questions, feel free to contact me.
Great ! I am glad you all like this idea, I didnt find this receipe untill a few weeks ago that i posted but I think you could make it as soon as you get home from the hospital, it would be about the same as a sf popcicle. as long as your dr allows milk at first.
The chicken and fruit sounds good to me and the peanut butter pudding sounds wonderful.
