question about fat free/skim milk
I've recently tried to get back on my protein shakes. I use the Body Fortress protein powders from Walmart and they had done fine with me before. But the past couple times I have tried to drink one of these things, I get dumping syndrome so badly. I get nauseated and lightheaded and sometimes have to run to the bathroom. I've tried other ready-made protein shakes in the past but they have all either given me gas or made me dump. I'm wondering if it's something in the milk itself, but I have no problem at all when I eat cheese or yogurt.
Can anyone relate here, or have any suggestions?

Several friends have had this problem with actual milk. They are ok with cheese and yogurt but can't drink the milk. Try soy instead. It has 1 carb per 8 ounces and only 70 calories.
Good luck!

I am lactose intolerant and cannot drink straight milk. I can, however, eat milk products without any problems. I just use lactaid milk, which is real milk, just with the lactose enzyme taken out. It tastes normal, maybe sweeter than normal milk, and I do great with it. You may want to try that and see how you do. It is also cheaper than soy, I believe.

HI!! I also have milk issues...and I also drink Body Fortress, Choc. but I mix mine with a pack of Swiss MIss Hot Coco, and 8oz water heat it for 45-60 sec. sometimes more (check often to make sure it doesnt clump) but I drink it like Hot Coco and its good but I cant do it with milk because it hurts very badly!! Hope this helps!!
