You'll be very happy with Dr. Tom...I wouldn't trade him for any other surgeon. He's a sweetheart and will work with you til you get what it is that you're needing. It took me 3 years seemed like to get my surgery, but I was having a trust issue with the surgeon at the time...after finding Dr. Tom....seemed like I had my surgery no time. Wish you the best. I know you'll be very happy

Hi Leslie! I hope you have a good time on vacation. We just went on a 7-night cruise last month and the food temptations were tough, but I came back with a 2 pound weight loss. I think that allowing yourself a little lattitude on vacation is okay, especially if you are going to be getting in a lot of physical activity. I ate things on our cruise that I never eat at home, but I kept my portions reasonable and made sure to get my protein in each day.
Have a wonderful trip!

Leaving for Myrtle Beach on Thursday and hoping I can stay on track while I am there..........so many tempting foods!
I am packing healthy snacks so hopefully that will help.
Thinking if I stick to the seafood I will get my protein......just not wanting to give in to the frozen lemonades and sweet desserts!

Topic: RE: How do I GAIN weight??
Sorry to hear about your loss. Have you tried doing what you did before you had your weight loss surgery. We had bad habits so if you were to do some of those for awhile maybe you could gain some weight. Do the doctors not know why you can't gain weight?

Hey Brenda,
Hate to hear you have had such a rough time. I knew about your husband's passing but did not know you had the recent surgery and issues. Glad you are doing better. I think the most important thing is to eat healthy, take your vitamins, and do what exercises you can. Your body and mind have been through a lot of stress so simply take care of yourself. I would never advise anyone to start up bad habits again or to sabotage their weight loss.....but if I was TRYING to gain weight, I'd probably eat more carbs.........often.......you know....the things we used to do that got us to the point of having to have RNY! lol
Also make sure you are relaxing and stay in touch with family and friends. Stress and isolation within itself can make you look stressed so get out and enjoy life...........I know you don't feel great but look at the positive side. You are recovering nicely, it may take some time, and just take one day at a time. Even if you simply sit outside and listen to the birds or read a magazine.
If you need anything, let me know. You can pm me or call anytime!
Take Care!
