Topic: To BLIS or Not-To-BLIS, that is the question...
With my VSG surgery just around the corner, I'm battling the decision with opting for BLIS coverage or not.  I'm an overall healthy gal and really do not anticipate complications -- but honestly, does anybody ever truly anticipate problems?  This surgery is a sacrifice for my family and I'm just trying to weigh all the pros and cons.  I don't have 1500 bucks to "waste", but I realize one slight hurdle could equate to ten times that amount.

What are your thoughts?

I am excited to say and more than a little shocked...I made it to doctors goal.  Part of me...I guess the former fat girl part of me....did not think it would actually make it. But I did!  I am 166 pounds lighter than my highest weight. I am now normal...or so they say....my brother disagress however. I am at the high end of the normal range- but I am there. I do not know what will happen ultimately but I am going to try to continue to be aware of my foods and weight as I move forward with my life.
I am very happy and feel quite blessed to have had the opportunity to do this.  I would never have considered this if I had not gone down to TN and cared for a friend when she had hers done 5 years ago. I am thankful to her for her strength to have it done. I am thankful for a lady I work with whose encouragement as I struggled with approval and at work since has been invaluable. I am thankful for my wonderful hubby and family for their support as I worked this.  And I am thankful for all the Babes I know who have helped me with the head side of it all and encouraged me all along.

I am  just so lucky and thankful.

here's to all of us working towards our goals....weight or otherwise!

I am sorry you had to have a second surgery. I am glad you are feeling better now. I will continue to pray that it just gets better and better.
the water weight will leave pretty quickly. And then it will be down hill, rolling down hill as you heal and loose.
All the best to you

Topic: Update
Wanted to update on my last post. It has been a very long 2 1/2 weeks. Ends up all my pain and trouble eating and drinking were from strictures. I have had two EGD's, an Upper GI, and another laparoscopic surgery in these past 2 1/2 weeks. To make a long story short when he did the lap surgery he found three places on my roux limb that were scared down and strictured. It took a two hour surgery to release the areas. Please pray that this will work if it doesn't he will have to re route my RNY a different way. This surgery has been so much worse that the first. Much more sore than the first time. But I am eating and drinking without pain. It is just the pits to have to recover again from surgery. I came home 20 pounds heavier with fluid this time. Last time I did great for about a week and a half so I am hoping that it will work this time. I sure have been regretting this decision so far. Hopefully things are going to start looking up!

Hello all , it has been awhile since I have logged on here. I have been doing great and have accomplished my goals and beyond. I have never made a better decision in my life. I weighed 330 pounds before surgery and had a 22% body fat and now I weigh 198 and have a 12% body fat. I have been working out at the gym for 9 months straight now and I feel great. Check out my photos you will see. Hang in there all. This path is worth it. Take care....
