Hey I'm originally from Clay City migrated to Lexington in Jan. I had my surgery done on 9-9-09 by Dr. Sonnanstine. I'm a few months ahead of you but I definitely remember how I felt in those first few weeks!

I've been meaning to get back on here and update you guys on my progress but I've been so busy I just forgot. I had my surgery on September 9th so I'm almost 7 months out. I've lost 93lbs so far and I feel fantastic! I haven't had any real problems which I'm thankful for. At Easter dinner Sunday my grandmother kept remarking on how she wouldn't have known it was me if I hadn't said something and my best friend who I've known for about 20 years walked right by me! I didn't think I'd changed that much but apparently I have.

I reached onederland at the beginning of January and am currently 175 which is the smallest I've ever been. I went to Old Navy yesterday and bought a pair of size 14 capris and they're just a bit too big (a size 13 would be perfect there!). I have come to realize that every time I get new clothes, or new to me clothes :D I'm always a in between size. Frustrating but hey I'd rather be in between than a 26 again!

Got my 6 month labs back a few weeks ago and everything was fine except my vitamin D which was a little low so upped that. I need to get more protein and more water in and I'm working diligently on that!

When I had surgery I was in a relationship with a man I'd been with since July of 2005, we have since broken up and I am happily in a new relationship :D. I don't think my surgery or weight loss caused our break up but I think it made me confident enough to know that I could do better and I have! My new boyfriend is a wonderful man. He was obese himself a few years ago and has since lost 145lbs. Surprisingly he was able to do this without the benefit of surgery which hey more power to him! I couldn't do it and am very proud of him for being able to. He's joining the Army and will be leaving for basic on May 25th so I'm sure I'll be lurking around OH even more then since I'll be lonely!

Just wanted to update my OH friends on how I've been since my surgery.

Topic: RE: has anyone went from band to a sleeve?
I was reading older post forward when I saw someone cooment on Dr.S and sucees rates..is this what they meant? please forgive my ignorence but I am not all that far out and have lost weight so far I am constanly worried I am going to just stop losing weight and suddenly gain everything back. it's a nightmare for me.  why do you think your are not successfuland here it says you are type 1 diabetic but your profile says type 2..I was just wondering if the doctor told you the type2 goes away with the weight loss of if you are type1 if it would get better but something you would always have to deal with...it does honestly worry me and I hope you would not be offended by me asking these questions..if you followed the approppiate earing rules ..it's just something i worry about daily.
I was wondering in old post about suceess rate of Dr S .  I have a friend that is going through the process now and worry since i read that post someone made.  can we find out more information on the doctors?? i will post something on their pos twhen I get a chance. i work at night and am sneaking on the computer.

Topic: has anyone went from band to a sleeve?
I had my lap band 2 years ago and have failed tremendously, I am not losing weight, have reflux, a hiatal hernia, and throw up at least once a day. I am a type 1 diabetic also and am looking into maybe revising to the sleeve, any info would be appreciated, but I did follow the appropiate eating habits so I know that wasn't a reason for the failure.

Thanks,
Stacey
