You can do it. Does your doctor or insurance require that you lose some many pounds pre-o*****t gain? It will get better-hang in there. What type of surgery are you having?

You will do great. The surgeons you have chosen have a great record of successful sugeries! No one dies :)
I go to the same surgeons in Lexington. Dr. Denk performed my lap band surgery and all has been great. Slow with the band but happy with how everything has turned out.

Seven more days. Feel like I am doing good on the pre op diet. But beginning to get really nervous! Can anyone else enlighten me about the fears you had? My family is really concerned about the possibility of me dying. But I feel like I have done my research and am ready although I am nervous about that too. Just need to let these nerves out a little.

You are right where I was this time in January. I am scheduled for surgery in a little over two weeks, and I couldn't be happier! I didn't have to do the 3 months diet, but I did have a few extra pre-op tests to get out of the way. So far I've been on the low-carb since my first appointment and have lost about 30 pounds. You are right, and it will get easier...the first few days are always the hardest. Good luck to you!

I had my initial evaluation appointment yesterday at St. Joe East and have begun the low carb diet. My insurance requires that I do a 3 month supervised diet before they will approve the surgery. It has been a rough first day of eating low carb, but I know it will get better.
