Topic: Christmas Party Anyone?
The Christmas season is officially here and I was wondering if anyone - espcially the Eastern KY area would like to have a little OH Christmas party?
If so.......what dates in Dec. are good for you ....any dates other than the 5th or 12th are great for me.......I would be glad to have it at my home or we could meet at a local restaurant.....
Send me your feedback!

good point Katrina.....I was still on liquids and starting soft foods too.
Didn't realize you were only a couple of weeks out!
If you are trying solids, I'd go back to a phase I until you can get in to see the Dr.

I'm no doc. (of course) but from what you describe it sounds like you have a stricture. Strictures occur when your stoma is too tiny to allow food and liquids to pass through. They can fix that, of course.
You wouldn't be able to have a reversal/revision just because of that. It's something that is easily fixed. Get in touch with your surgeon and schedule an appointment.

Good luck.

Edited to fix typo. and to add:

You aren't even a month out yet. You will have slight buyer's remorse. Stay on target with your surgeons/nutritionists instructions. Don't go to solids if you aren't supposed to. At your stage I was still doing soft foods. Make sure you measure your food also because at this point you're still healing and unable to tell when you're really full.

Topic: Who Survived Thanksgiving?
I survived but that doesn't mean I was a perfect eating bypass patient.

Tried to focus on the turkey and ham.....proteins....but had to sample a bite of each side.........and throughout the day I had managed to eat 1/2 slice of pumpkin pie, a bite of key lime pie and a bite of pecan pie..............oh...and don't forget the 1/2 slice of gingerbread from Starbucks!
Why would I do that?
Guess I talked myself into it because "it's Thanksgiving".......
So, trying not to beat myself up and be back on track today.
Going to go walking ...in some stores......(LOL)....after work and count that as exercise!

Hope everyone had a great holiday.

I would schedule a meeting with my dr. and the psych....that is why we have them......for advice and support.  I know how depressing it is to not feel well physically.
Just be strong and remind yourself that it is worth it.
Make a list of the things you want to accomplish and why you chose to experience this weigh loss journey.....and read it when you start having doubts.
You are new out and it does get better.  It gets A LOT better.  And when you start seeing those big results......you will know you made the right choice.
Are you getting bored and frustrated with the food and drink options....if so, look for new options......I used to browse cook books and stores for hours for "educational" purposes......and look for things you may have never eaten before.......
Not sure what stage you are in but the soy meats were easiest for me to digest.....

Good luck and keep your head up!

Not as far out but am definitely at the point that I have to have self control or I can see how easy it is to start gaining.

Every 2-3 months I go back to the basics and eat like a Phase I or II diet for a week, count my proteins, and walk........kind of keeps me on track for now.

Topic: RE: what has changed for you?
Gosh, I don't know where to start!

I can wear regular sizes and feel good in my clothes. I was in 20-22W and am now beginning to wear 8s!

I no longer have sleep apnea or constant knee and back pain. I can take my dogs for a walk and RUN with them! I also can sit on the floor and play with my great-niece--and get up all by myself! My husband and I go hiking for fun--and it used to be torture to walk up a flight of stairs.

I still have 20-30 pounds to lose, but I feel like a new person--healthy, happy, and full of life!

I am so sorry.  Have you posted this question on the RNY page.  It might get more response or even on the main page.  I have read that you should call your doctor you might have a stricture.

i need some advice about the rouen y gastric bypass!!!!  I am so sick, I cant eat anything without getting sick and it feels like it gets stuck no matter how small the bite or how much I chew it up it still feels stuck and even liquid feels that way sometimes. Will this ever get better? I am seriously thinking about a reversal but I almost died with the first surgery and I am scared to death to go through another but I cant live the rest of my llife like this.  What do I do? If anyone has any advice please let me know because all I can do is cry. I dont want lto live like this but I dont want to die either.
