I don't know if you have had this done by Dr. Curry or not but I would suggest you maybe do some research before you do. I had him do my surgery and he installed a lap band that had a port leak. So when I got my fills - they leaked out in about a week. I asked him to replace it but he won't do it without charging me for the surgery again. I put my life's savings into getting this surgery - I used my 401k and everything I had saved - it was for nothing. My lap band is useless to me. I have asked him to help and all they offered to do was allow me to get fills more often. It doesn't help because there is no restriction at all. I am very disappointed and just recently I tried to email him to ask about another program - they are HCG injections. It is very expensive as well and I asked if possibly he would allow me a discount on this program but he won't even respond. I am incredibly frustrated and just wanted to let you know that maybe you should ask for some details about what your options are if they band is faulty. Possibly get something in writing before hand.
Best of luck to you!

I was having band issues and went to Gellar for a second opinion. I was TOTALLY impressed with Dr. Gellar and decided to stay with him but his rates at the time were too high since I am self-pay. Now that his rates have been lowered I can use him regularly.
You may end up waiting OVER an hour past your appointment time but he will give you 100% of the attention you require when he makes it to your exam room and not rush things. He is a class act.

Dr. Gellar,
You just made my day!! I will be calling your office in the morning!
About 4 months ago I came to you for a 2nd opinion on my band/consult for possible sleeve and LOVED your style. When I was told if my insurance denied the claim that the OOP fee would be $250 (it did) I had to make the decision to go to another office for my follow-ups.
I would much prefer that both my husband and I use your office for our band maintenance over my other local choices.
THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU!

Topic: RE: Speaking of scarey things!
Thanks, Jacqueline. I'm doing a little better today. I've not had any more problems with vomiting. A little sliming last night, but able to keep down chicken and veggies- very small serving and very slow eating. You might be right about the stress. The week-end was a little stressful but hopefully I'm somewhat back to normal. Hopefully no unfill in the future. Have a good week.

do you think you have a virus? Could you be under undo stress? Could you have a sinus drainage? All these things can cause the band to get or seem too tight, well the virus is a given it would cause you to be sick? How recently have you had a fill? If you continue to have problems I would at least call, you do not want to get dehydrated nor PB so much you slip your band. Although I was told that it takes profuse vomiting to cause a slip.
