Heather - I also had a total exclusion in my policy which resulted in me being a self-pay. I wish I had more positive news about it, but it is the company's decision to write it in as an exclusion and unless you work for a small company that you can talk to the head honchos, I think it's pretty hard to get overturned (this is just my experience).
