Hello everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I just want to see if you all think I'm on the right track.  I had my surgery 3/11/08 which has been 8 weeks.  I have lost 22 pounds but nothing in about 2 weeks.  I know I'm in "Bandster Hell".  Do you think 22 pounds is about right?  I mean, I hear some people who lose that the month after surgery.  I am considered light weight and I know the heavier you are the quicker you lose.  But I'm so hoping that after my fill on Wed the 14th, I'll start losing again, it will be my 2nd fill.

I am at the point where I was starting to really see my weight loss but now when I look in the mirror I'm like, I know the scales say I've lost but I can't see it.  Is that normal????

Sorry guys, I'm just having a moment:)

I think you are doing great,  22 lbs. in 8 weeks. I could have never lost that kind of weight before being banded. You will hit plateaus through this journey i had one for three weeks. You said you were a light weight, you may not lose as fast as someone who has a lot of weight to lose, don't compare your loss to others and you may want to stay off the scale for a while. I find that when i hit a plateau it is best to stay away from the scale because it make's me wonder if my band has stopped working (i know it is silly but my mind still plays games with me at times) You will start losing again once you get your fill, that seems to always kick the weight loss in motion. You are totaly normal the way you feel but, before you look in the mirror put on a pair of your old pants you wore before being banded then look in the mirror and see what you have accomplished. Hang in there, we all have are moments during the weight loss journey. 22 lbs in 8 weeks is great!  Remember, average weight loss with the band is 1-2 lbs a week, so you're doing above average. Try not to sweat the 2-week stall.  I have lost at very uneven rates since surgery - 2 lbs one week, nothing the next, and so on. It took me about 5 months to start being able to see the difference in my appearance.  For a while there, every time I looked in the mirror, I saw the same old fat girl.  It helps to compare my "now" photos to my "before" photos and also to try on the one fat outfit that I saved.
