That is so true Sandy. I plan on speaking with my PCP. My AIC is 7 so I am pretty well controlled @ this time.

      108 days ago my A1C was 6.7. Just had it checked again and it was 6.5.   I don't reaaly know alot about diabeties as my doc has been very pleased with my numbers being below 7.0 with diet and exercise. I am VERY strict re diet and exercise.
    I wish ALL diabetics could get this life saving surgery. There is even a procedure bein done for type 2 THIN diabetics in other countries. I wish they would start here. I have a friend that is a beanpole type 2 that eats well inhales everything in sight. This procedure simply bypassing and no restriction would cure her.

Yes, this country is finally realizing that the band helps significantly with diabetes, even if we are not a lot overweight. I think the ins companies will see fairly soon how beneficial (ie saving them $$ on future health care ) banding would be for  a huge number more people than they approve now.

The very positive effects with diabetics  is  beeing seen sooner in other countries mostly because  they all have been banding longer.
