Unjury Protein With Water Or Milk
I of course won't know the calories till I get the stuff I just ordered, but my post op diet started with 1.5 days clear liquid, 10 days full liquid, and then 2 weeks soft food. during my full liquid phase I was instructed to drink 3-4 ounces of liquid at a time (stretching it out over 30 minutes). We're supposed to get 60+ grams of protein a day post op and realistically when only taking in liquids, shakes are the best way to get all yur nutrients and protein.
Your surgeon or nutritionist will probably have thier own version of the post op diet, but most are similar, just different in the lengths of the phases.

I think the Unjury has 3 grams of carbohydrate per serving... if I remember correctly. My little one (my pup dog) is asleep in the room just off the kitchen or I would check for sure, but I am pretty sure it's 3. Right after surgery you will have to use the shakes as meals to get enough protein. I didn't, because I just couldn't drink much at all. But... if you want to get the protein in, you will need to. When I start on regular foods, I will most likely drink an Unjury shake, SlimFast, or Carnation IB for breakfast, as I have done that for years!! I NEVER have time to "fix" breakfast in the morning, so that works fine for me!
I will try to eat a good solid protein for lunch and dinner.

I have used milk w/ chocolate and vanilla (instuctions say water OR milk) and water with the Strawberry, since as you said it doesn't really give a milk option in the instructions. The strawberry is ok with water, but may be better with milk?? I usually always prefer to use milk over water b/c it is generally creamier! I just ran some plain water through my coffee pot and added some Syntha 6 Chocolate Mint protein powder. It is no Starbucks, but it's pretty good when you are hungry and need the protein!
Good luck!
