Im just wondering....
If during surgery, they are only filling your abdominal cavity with the gas....why would using gas X or aonther anti gas med work? wouldnt the meds be for internal gas? Is the gas somehow absorbed into your system? Is there something else I am missing?

Gas X doesn't work for that gas but a lot of people use it anyway.

GasX works for items you eat or drink, not the surgical gas.

To get rid of the surgical gas, you will need to walk, walk, walk, walk, and, when you are tired of walking, walk some more.

You're not missing anything as far I can tell.

The gas is absorbed by your system and you get rid of it like intestinal gas, eventually.

Gas Pains

You may experience some gas pains from residual carbon dioxide that may remain in your abdomen following the procedure. This pain usually presents as shoulder pain or sharp pain underneath your diaphragm. The pain is usually transient and will disappear in a day or two. It helps if you get up and move around while you are having this pain, and also if you drink either ho****er or hot tea with fresh lemon. Heat, massage and exercise can also help to alleviate this pain.

Post Op Gas X = Its like the bandaide you put on a small childs leg that scuffs but no skin broken...it makes them feel better :)
I am a work in progress...perhaps never completed or perfected; but forever working to change for the better...
