Fatty Liver

Ugh!  I don't know yet what my surgeon will require in the way of a pre-op diet but I had already decided to try to shrink my liver some before my surgery.  Looking at those pictures reinforced this decision for me.  I plan to do a full-liquids type diet for at least a week if he requires less.  Otherwise, I will just follow his instructions.

MY SURGEON PUT ME ON A CLEAR LIQUID DIET FOR 1 WEEK PRIOR TO SURGERY. AFTER SURGERY HE TOLD MY MOM--WHO WAS WITH ME--AND MYSELF THAT MY LIVER WAS 4X THE SIZE IT SHOULD BE DUE TO FATTY LIVER DISEASE. HE SAID HAD I NOT DONE SOMETHING TO LOSE A GOOD AMT OF WEIGHT I WOULD BE LOOKING AT PROBABLE DIABETES AND CIRROHSIS IN THE FUTURE. BUT HE ALSO ASSURED ME THAT AS I LOST THE WEIGHT, MY LIVER WOULD GO BACK TO NORMAL SIZE. WHEW~~SO GLAD I DID THIS. I LOVE MY BAND!!!! JAN 8. 2009 I GOT MY LIFE BACK

I had to do a 2 week low carb low fat diet and then a 2 week 2 protein shake a day and alow fat low carb meal a day. 1 day clear liquids before surgery. My surgery is jan 28 so I am in the middle of the 2 shake and 1 meal a day plan.
 Hijack------Hey Jaimed how come you didn;t have to di the shake diet???Wh have the same MD.
