I know exactly where you are coming from. I have had my band for three years this friday and up until 8 weeks ago I had only lost, roughly, 35 pounds. Keep in mind that I went to the seminar in my home town but had to have surgery out of town for insurance purposes. Anyway, I was doing great to begin with and then my mom past away, not so great after that for quite awhile. Then I got fill after fill. Then my surgeon moved and I could'nt find him. I was working my band (so I thought) all this time. However, 8 weeks ago when I found my surgeon again, he said I had been doing it all wrong and that was why I was only 35 pounds down in almost three years. I'm doing it "right" now and voila.
I'm not saying you are doing it "wrong". I'm saying is what may work for all his other patients may not work for you. I was following what I had learned at the seminar at home and not the seminar that MY surgeon had conducted. He and I have been communicating about once a week for the last eight weeks. I email him and ask him everything (big or small). I've had stand stills and gotten on here and vented and everyone is wonderful about voicing opinions and helpful suggestions...and I try those. And when it doesnt work for me, i email him.
Maybe you should go out on a limb and ask another surgeon for his advice. See if he/she can tell you something different pertaining to your eating habits and exercise.
Please keep your chin up,,,I know how you feel. We want it gone now and it just doesnt work that way for everyone. But you can do this. I believe in you. Contact me anytime.
I had to change lots of things. I only drink in the morning before I eat and I am usually not hungry til about 11. Then after that I only drink right before I eat a meal. Protein first (1/4 of what my daughters eat) and then if I still feel hungry then I can have others stuff (veggies, salad). I do not snack. And i have a couple sips of water before i go to bed. I've been losing 1 -2 pounds a week. I see him to weigh in every 4 weeks and keep in close contact with him. I was doing protien shakes and he said NO NO NO. I hope this helps. My email is posted on my profile if you ever want to talk or pick my brain some more.
