As for the eating I am finally learning to eat a bite put the damn fork down and chew chew chew. And 75% of each meal is to be protein. and the rest a veggie, but no more that 30 carbs per day! Putting the fork down and really chewing small bites made me no longer kill myself and my band (I lovingly call my choke chain!)
Don't beat yourself up and quit being embarrassed as we all have food and weight issues or we wouldn't be here!
I also don't allow myself to compare what others are doing or I would shoot myself. Be your friend first and the rest will follow!!
LOL and trust me their have been times that I have called my band worse!!!!!

Band removed and feeling alive with energy!
Thanks Ann!!! I've been working out so hard - I mean I sweat buckets. The other day I was the only one in the gym and I was talking to myself because I chose the hardest setting on a piece of equipment - I was saying "Don't give up, you can do this" and talking for 35 minutes. I sure hope the security cameras don't have ears!!!
I want a dog also but my hubby says NO =( We do live in a small condo - so I understand. Maybe I'll just come to San Fran and take your dogs for a walk!!

Diet = Did I Eat Thoughfully?
4 years! That's crazy! We all know that not all WLS options work for all people, needing to revise to something else is far from unheard of and if he dosn't know what else to do for you then he should be a bit more flexible in hiw willingness to either revise you or refer you to someone else.
Any chance of finding a new doctor to do a revision surgery?

OK - first - I've been off the boards so long I didn't know you were expecting! Congrats!!!
I am thinking of looking at my options for a revision and talking to a different surgeon. Just the thought of it makes me feel like I'm cheating on my doc - but I need to lose weight if I don't want to die by the time I'm 40!

I don't think you're cheating on him if you broached the topic of a revision and he said, "Only iff you wait four years." you're advocating for yourself.

p.s. I forgot to mention that if you are on depression meds, a lot of them help you gain weight. I gained 60 on prozac and paxil!@$$$%%^^
and as for your rude Family members............Remind them that there is no excuse for rudeness! It hurts like hell to have a weight problem and then critized, so inform them that you do not need this!!!!

Hey Jewels. I'm sorry to hear you're so down right now. I'm not sure what to suggest because it sounds like you're trying or have tried everything. I don't know how long you stick with a new suggestion from your dr or if that would make a difference. Just a thought.
Also, do you have a support group that you can go to? I've got a couple of groups that I rely on. I really love having them around to bounce things off of. I know you have OH, but sometimes being with another bandster really helps.
Good luck to you with whatever you find that will help you get to your goal. Let us know how things go.

Hi JoJo,
My surgeon does have a support group for all weight loss types. That is one thing I haven't tried - maybe I should work up the courage to go to one (I'm terrified and admit I make excuses one Thursday a month so I don't have to go)! When my Nut or surgeon gives me a suggestion I usually try it until my next appointment when I weigh the same and they tell me to do something else!

I've made some pretty good band friends through my groups. We email almost daily just to check up on each other. It really helps! I know the first couple of times are a little hard to walk into when you don't know anyone. Having the band in common helps bridge that gap. I'd say go to at least 2-3 meetings before you make a decision whether they hel*****t. Kind of like dating! LOL
