Slower losers - unite! What keeps you losing?
A steady 1.3lbs a weeks is not to be sneezed at! After the first month or so, my rate dropped down to about 6lbs a month and that never worried me. And you are doing that without restriction so it is all down to you! That deserves praise! If you were following Weigh****chers, would you be unhappy about over 1lb a week? Well, this is no different.
Just think - 1.3lbs a week = almost 6lbs a month. So by summer (say mid August) you will have lost 30lbs. That's probably at least two dress sizes. Start planning your summer wardrobe now! That will motivate you!

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Hi Kate:
As long as I keep losing, at 6 lbs a month I'm good! I was getting a bit worried because the last 2 weeks were a plateau. But I just got a fill. Now I'm only worried if I have too much saline in my band. If I do, I'll get an unfill next week.
Summer definitely is a motivator. I'm going on a cruise in Europe with my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary (12 cities), so there is an event to look forward to. That stuff sure helps with motivation! I haven't bought any new clothes yet, so hopefully I will finally lose enough to need something new!

First I would like to say congratulations on your loss this far.
I definitely qualify as a slow loser. BUT the thing that is keeping me going is knowing that I have dropped from a size 24 top and bottom and now I wear a 16 bottom and can wear 14/16 tops. My goal for Can****his summer is to be in a size 14 or maybe even a 12.
I think the key for me is exercise, I think this is the main thing that help so much with the inch loss. Even when the scale does not move, I still went down a clothing size.

Wow - Cancun! Nice goal! I agree the size changes are fabulous - way to go! I'm not yet having to buy new clothes because I went from too tight to loose, and since they are not falling off yet I haven't got anything new. When I can do that I think it will help motivate me!
Exercise for me will be about getting rid of the tummy fat. My abdomen is proportionately larger than it used to be (urggh).

Hi : I thought that losing weight slowly was the idea of being banded! What keeps me losing is the band by itself and following the plan - I don't feel hungry with all the protein !! I had to go 3 months before my first fill because of an infection, and had zero restriction- but since my first fill Jan 19, I have lost what I consider slowly but it amounts to 10 lbs a month. What motivates me is the scale going in the right direction and all the wonderful people on OH!! I have my age and a low thyroid against me.
I found out something good- if you have Fittv channel on your cable channel- turn it on and leave it on! Do what you can do everyday with the exercise gurus especially "Gilad"!! Soon you'll find exercising easier while not paying big money for the gym or a wii. Plus it's fun trying the belly dancing exercise on "Shimmy"-

Yeah - I can't really complain about slow losing, since that is the band concept, and 6 lbs a month is not bad.
10 lbs is great. How much is in your band? I just was at 4.5 in 10cc band, and just got a fill to 6.0 cc which is a HUGE difference, and maybe too much (but I'll give it a few days to see).

I thought I was a slow loser too until my doctor told me losing 1 to 2 pounds a week is the right way. Plus, I got to thinking about it the other day and if I lose 30 lbs. every year for the next 3 years as the band journey should be - that's 90 lbs. . . I'll take that!!! I don't think I've ever lost more than 20 lbs. on my own so I'm already ahead.
Plus, I have PCOS and exercise is always an issue for me. I definitley need to get my butt moving more, which I'm hoping with the weather getting nicer, it will be easier to get motivated.
Good luck in your journey!!
