Lesson Learned
on 4/12/09 10:59 am
I made a killer ham for Easter-I never cook, so I never developed tasting rules. I actually did think about it, decided to let the band limit quantity-BAD choice. I noticed I got really full really fast at lunch, then immediately became uncomfortable-a few hours later the source was revealed (in the toilet bowl after puking). Ham that I mindlessly snarfed down while I was preparing the platter-and mindless equals not well chewed which equals disaster. Serves me right.
Restriction is restriction, and it doesn't matter if you are one month out or almost two years, follow the rules is always a good idea. And my tummy didn't care that I almost never cook-the rules are still the rules...lesson learned.
And yes, I indulged in a little pity party of "Oh poor me, I'll never learn" for about 5 seconds, then I realized, I can still tasted test if I need to (I really only cook a couple of times a year), but dang it, I still need to CHEW. That is the choice I made when I got the band-to always chew my food.
After I'm done fussing at myself, and the icky feeling and sometimes even the PBing, I then think "YES! MY BAND STILL WORKS!!!!!"
