Also, just to jump start things, why not give the plateau busters diet a try for the 10 days. Can't hurt. It sounds like you are doing everything else right.

Take comfort in knowing that muscle does weigh more than fat when you consider the actual size of the mass....for example, if you have a 3X3 cube of muscle and a 3X3 cube of fat, the cube of muscle will weigh more than the fat because it is more dense.  Take comfort in knowing that your clothes will be fitting better even if the scale is not moving.  It will because greater muscle mass also increases your metabolism....you just have to give the scale time to catch up with your body!

Make sure you are taking your vitamins if you aren't already.... and make sure it's a GOOD one.

How long have you been plateaued? Is this your first one?

Are you tracking your calories on dailyplate/sparkpeople/etc? You could be getting in too little or too much and not even realize it.

OK FACTS ACCORDING TO MUSCLE WEIGHING MORE THEN FAT:

"William Sukala, MS, CSCS, answers: Muscle does not weigh more than fat, any more than lead weighs more than feathers. A pound is a pound is a pound. Where the misunderstanding often comes in is that muscle is much more dense than fat, so that, by volume, it seems to weigh more. That is, a pound of muscle occupies less space than a pound of fat. In addition, because a pound of muscle burns more fat than a pound of fat, even at rest, by increasing your lean muscle tissue mass, you're helping your body burn more calories."

So if you were to say muscle is smaller then fat then yes that is true. You are replacing fat with muscle yes true, but it does not weigh more. Hope that puts all that to rest. I just don't think that it is healthy for us to have this misconception. I don't know about you but I don't have a volume scale laying around!!!

Thanks,
Jen
