WOW! You really look healthy, happy and amazing. It's nice to see a lurking turtles success. YIPPEE
I hope my turtle race goes as wonderfully as yours has. I'm curious if you've had many speed bumps along the way that interupted your journey and if you'd be willing to share them. I guess I just want to know if a long term bander can happen without complications.

WOW!
Can I just say a huge thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread, with the time difference this is the first time I have had chance to check back, and your support is overwhelming
Thank you to everyone for your kind words I really do appreciate them!
Someone said I was 'a skinny 198' and asked my height, LOL that made my day, I don't think I've ever been called skinny! My height is 5' 11" so I guess that just means the fat has more places to spread LOL
Someone else asked about 'speedbumps' well I guess it took me a long time to find restriction, I have a 5cc band and 4.2cc in it, I've had three fills. I've had long plateaus where the scale didn't move much at all. At those stages I've played around with my food / protein intake, tried plateau buster diets suggested on here and simply persevered as my thinking is - the bell curve has to start going up again at some point!!! LOL I've had great support from my doctor's office throughout which has been great - you will see I was banded by Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico - him and his team are fab!
I think what really helped me was going to a support group and realising, finally, (as I only started this about 6 months ago) that I wasn't the only person out there who had emotional eating issues! LOL here I was thinking it was just me!!! LOL
I think this was the turning point for me and when the weight started shifting again. Due to my location I started out reading as much as I could find on the topic of emotional eating - thank goodness for Amazon! LOL I then stumbled on a support group here, which I didn't expect to find, and meeting real life people has really helped. I would like to take it one step further and have one on one counselling as I can now see if I really am going to be a long term success at this I have to address my demons once and for all!!! I will have to wait to change locations for that as out here seeking help with a pyschatrist is still pretty much taboo.
I guess this is what has worked for me so far, but as this is a life time committment I still feel I am learning how to use the band and more importantly how to live with it. So I just want to say to everyone, seriously, if I can make this thing work then anyone can!
Good luck to everyone in their journey and thank you so much for the fab support you can always be guarranteed of finding on here!
