Why is the band rejecting food?

Uh, if you're pbing that much you are too tight.  Regardless of when your last fill is, you need to discus this with your doctor.  I became suddently to tight 2 weeks ago and my PA and I determined that I had somehow irritated my stoma and/or esophogus.  I was going a long fine and then bam!  I couldn't keep anything down.

Don't let this go!  It's not worth possibly damaging something more seriously.  I had a slight un-fill of 1.25.  We are giving it two weeks to see if it helps and then I can get my fill back.  I feel so much better I think I'm only going to get .5 back on the next visit.  I don't want to be that tight again.

I think I hurt myself eating too much popcorn.  Have you been over eating or eating things not recommnded for the band prior to your sudden PB episodes?  TOM can affect the band, but I've not had that experience.  The only thing that happens to me during TOM is water retention.

Keep us posted and take care!

The meat patty - it wasn't my first choice to order, I was going to order a side salad and chicken breast.. my friend mentioned i hadn't eaten much over the last few days we were on vacay and I ate mostly sandwhich meat with a bite or two of the roll... and some pop chips... and fiber crackers .. so I ordered the burger meat only to get some added calories... maybe that was a mistake...

Chicken - I don't know if it was dry? I had some salsa over it... when I got sick it was mushy so I know I chewed well

Today tuna??? again when i came up it was soft.

I haven't been eating foods I shouldn't persay.. I had full of crackers cheez it one night and some pop chips with my sandwich but that's it..otherwise everything else was fine.. I ate hominy soup one day on vacay and that went down fine...

I feel your pain.  I wonder if its a vacation thing.  I too was on vacation this past weekend and had a heck of a time eating and keeping anything down.  My in-laws probably think I'm bulemic from running to the bathroom constantly to PB and slime.  Today having same problem, was able to eat soup but it took about 45 mins., I'm going to try soup again tonight.  Water goes down fine.  Strange fickle thing this band is!!   Hang in there and like others say, don't let it go on too long.

Regardless, you should be able to eat half a meat patty, chicken and tuna.  Something is not right.

Take care!

I wonder if you irritated your esophogus on Sunday --- and had the PB --- but did not rest long enough before you tried the chicken.

Maybe taking 24 hours of liquids/smooth foods like pudding or yogurt or appleauce, mashed potato, etc will let things calm down -- then ease back to tuna.

I hope things settle down for you soon ---

my surgeon's office is very clear that when you have a pb issue - to immediatly go on liquids for 2 days then mushies for 2 days then regular food.

Also, chicken breast is a no-no for many lap band patients; it does not matter if it is in sauce; the chicken itself consists of dry fibrous matter -- the dark  chicken is moister and more easily goes down.

Hope you are feeling better.

I heartily agree with giving your band a rest. Yesterday, my dad cooked THE most tender pork shoulder. mmm... barbecue, lol. Well since I usually can't eat BBQ anything. I got real happy with that  pork.

I felt terrible last night. By early afternoon today it had gotten much better. Until I tried to move  beyond liquid. And I don't mean protein shake liquid. I mean thin, broth-like liquid. So I think I'll go with thin liquids for the next few days and see what happens.

Peace

I had a bad day today.  The yogurt wasn't too bad, but lunch was a Lean Cuisine light meal.  Usually I do ok with it (I can eat chicken if it's moist and freshly made. I can NOT eat reheated chicken).  But today, halfway thru and well, I love this term but "slime" started and up came mostly that.

Dinner was a bit better, but I still haven't eaten enough today.  I need to start the protein shakes again.

The best thing is to go to liquid or very soft foods after a bad episode, my doctors recommend liquid then soft as well.

Also watch grease intake, sometimes that bothers me as well.

I was to tight for two months in a row....end up with two small unfills before it got better.....I was PBing well over 50% of my food and what was staying down was basically slider foods.....I have since gotten a couple of small fills and back up to where I was, plus need another small fill next week.....Be very careful. It isn't worth have a slipped band over.
