Not answering for a reason? Such as.... I never did what you have accused me of and you are too trollish and childish to admit it?

Midwestern Girl... why are you being so rude and argumentative? No one comes to this board to read this type of stuff. The point is made, some people think they should get a discount and others do not. If it is all you can eat-flat fee, then why would there be child discounts? Because generally, small children eat less. This is why a WLS patient may expect to get a discount. Is it the rule? NO. $10 is a lot to pay for 1/2 cup of poor quality food, period. Will we continue to have to pay this, yes maybe. Are people happy about it, NO. Will Chinese Buffets go out of business either way because of some WLS'ers, NO.
Enough said.
~~why are you being so rude and argumentative?~~
Again....
Pot, kettle....
Are you seeing a trend here?
Why would you go to a restaurant with poor quality food?

Exactly. We all know the **** they serve at buffets is not worth our time or our money, so why go there at all. Why not just go somewhere that you know will allow you to order smaller portions of better food and call it a day.
I also agree with the others that it is silly to assume you should pay less at a buffet because you are eating less. Plenty of naturally skinny folks eat only a little as well- should they get a discount? No because that is silly at a fixed price buffet- for anyone.

Personally, I cant imagine why anyone wants to eat at a buffet after weight loss surgery anyway. Not a good choice for helping people control their portions. We dont do buffets at all anymore. That was part of my old life and wont be a part of my new life. I also dont understand wanting a discount on food from anyplace because of a choice we made to have surgery. How is that fair to the people who own and manage the restaurant? The work just as hard to prepare and serve a small meal as they do prepare a large one. It isnt there problem if you cant eat it all.
I also have problem with announcing my surgery every time I go out to eat. Why do that? I prefer to be treated as an ordinary customer. I dont need recognition that I'm special just because I had weight loss surgery. How AW to have to bring it up every time you go out to eat. I dont mind at all paying full price for a meal, no matter how much of it I can eat. Most restaurant visits provide me with enough food for several meals at home. That saves me plenty of money without having to ask for special treatment or discounts.

Thanks to all for sharing your experiences in this matter. That was in fact the main reason I posted in the first place, to get other's input. I had no idea the post would turn into a "race" issue. The whole thread took a wrong turn when lurkers chose to throw me under the bus.
But I remain teachable, and here's what I learned.1) Don't try to use the (quote-unquote) "fat" card if I'm not prepared to get a dose of humilation in front of a bunch of strangers in a restraunt. 2) Some WLS patients use hurtful adjectives themselves as if words like "fat" are not "prejudiced" and demeaning. 3) It's Sad that people who are among the obese (past or present) could add to the insults we daily indure, have endured or will endure.4) such people make me hope I never forget how harmful "names" like "fat" are. 5) don't post anything unless I'm willing to defend my views and justify my use of humor to get through a difficult experince 6) ignore trouble makers. 7)overlook coy remarks and/or be ready to apologize to all whom became insulted by injustices done to them in the past and prehaps even be the scape goat for such warrarented, but misplaced anger.7) Some people have no sense of humor and clearly nothing better to do than to spread contention among their fellows.
Overall, it's been a good day. I learned several valuable lessons, received many kind PM's and got rid of a useless "get out of jail/ repeat WLS free" card thereby making more room in my wallet for pictures of my loved ones. Oh, and I had a lovely day at my fav Aveda Salon, PTL!

Who called you fat? Lem'me at 'em!
Truth is, I don't think anyone called you fat.
Fat is a reality, it's my reality, it will always be my reality. I have a fat mentality, I post on fat boards, I had fat surgery. It is what it is. I recall someone recently chasing down and chastising someone for saying she felt like a cow and hated it. She wasn't calling anyone names, she was describing how she felt about herself and she should have the right. But it insulted someone else who also probably felt like a cow. I know I sure did before i lost weight.
It's okay for you to refer to Asians and kittens but it's not right for us to refer to fat? Double standards, perhaps?
I'm seeing a bit of projection here.

Firstly, I never said you called "me" fat. Where did you get that from?
Furthermore, A) referring to an Asian as an Asian (which BTW, everyone assumed the hostess was, b/c I never said that and to my knowledge I never used the word "Asian" in the post b/c quite frankly it didn't matter to telling the story) and B) a kitten as a kitten are far different than referring to a person who had WLS as "fat". No double standard, here. Look back at the posts some more and check for yourself cause I'm too busy trying to clean out my inbox, LOL. Ahh, actually this is so pathatic it's almost funny. Hey, ya know what this has amounted to a little good. Today, I've spent more time trying to take myself down from the cross and less time looking for something to eat.

Right here:
~~3) It's Sad that people who are among the obese (past or present) could add to the insults we daily indure, have endured or will endure.4) such people make me hope I never forget how harmful "names" like "fat" are~~
And here:
~~ a kitten as a kitten are far different than referring to a person who had WLS as "fat".~~
Considering I believe I am the only one that has used the term and you are pretty darn clear in your above quotes.
You aren't taking yourself down from a cross from my posts. I disagree with inferring a specific population eats kittens. I do think that is insulting. Please, let's all stop being obtuse here. But I have not slam dunked you over it.
