Yea, just like all the comments so many have made,  heard  or both about what's in Italian sausages, right.  And I guess that's racesist too.  How pathatic!  Anything to keep the pot bubbling. I've even heard our local Chinese restraunt owner joke about the kitty thing.
I guess we're going to start re-stoning now using the "animal cruilty" as for a smoke and mirror tactic to keep this going.  Move on!

Thanks for commenting, but I totally disagree.  And as for the kitten "joke:  is was just that.

We don't have those where I live (the cards) and I agree with the others. As upset as you were, I don't think those cards are worth the trouble, nor do I believe we have a right to any special treatment.

Sorry to hear you were humiliated ~ I'm sure that wasn't the waitress' intention.

Well, the card is in the trash now where it belongs.  Stupid of me for trying to use it.   Almost as stupid as trying to come here to post what happened as a way to bring humor and healing to my experience, LOL.  I should have known better than to put myself out there like that.
I wasn't really looking for special treatment or at least didn't mean to appear as though I was , just tried using my dr.'s advice for once.
I don't mind being humiliated, it keeps me .............humble.  I just like to post about such events as a way to gain thearpy and lighten the load of this sometimes "heavy" journey .
Glad you're back and hope all went well with your lasik surgery.

I do not think it was stupid of you to use the card. If they choose not to honor the card then so be it. But there is nothing wrong with you attempting to use the card to obtain a smaller portion of food because that is all that you can eat. If they say no, you pay regular price and go on with your life. It is not like you asked for free food and they may have gotten an extra tip for being cooperative. LOL! But whether they did or did not cooperate, it was not a stupid move on your part to ask for the card to be honored at that particular restaurant.

Aww, thanks for encouraging me to continue to post my experiences, Kitty.  This site is a part of my recovery and I find reading, responding and  posting to be somewhat thearputic in this journey.  I have learned to take the good with the not so good.
I'll repond your PM later when I have time to enjoy our "chat" as I'm on my way out to get a color.  A bit apprehensive as I'm trying a new shade in an attempt to hide the mounds of gray for an intervew on Friday.
Thanks SO MUCH for responding.  It means a lot.
Blessings, Sista!

My first thought was....get even for their rudeness.....leave several heaping, un-eaten plates full of food....
I can't seem to find an asian restaurant that isn't buffet - I wouldn't mind paying full price for an adult meal if I can take 1/2 of it home, but who wants to pay full buffet price and only be able to eat 1/2 c. of food?
In Vegas I did ask for a concession for my hubby and I (also banded)...and the price was dropped from $20 to $14 per plate (if I remember correctly) - it still seemed expensive though, for what we ate.  Now we just avoid all buffets and usually order & split an appetizer and meal & still have leftovers to take home (BTW, we tip as if we'd ordered double the ticket...since the wait-staff is still serving two, its not their fault we eat less expensively)

LOL, sometimes wish I could allow myself to do such a thing, but my conscience would huant me.  Besides, they have a big sign that says "$10 extra charge for wasting food". We like the Japanese Habachi grill.  You can order exactly what you wish, no questions asked and the chef has fun putting on a show for the kids.  It's like dinner theatre!
I've always hated buffets even b4 pre band days, but my girls love the freedom of choosing their own foods.
I like the tipping extra idea, b/c it's not as much a matter of the money as it is portion control.
Thanks for sharing,
Lin
