"Eating Out After WLS"
We just went out for lunch the other day so i order the half soup half sandwich .. this is how i ordered i'll take matza ball soup with out the matza and i'll take the tuna sandwich with out the bread lett, tomato .. just the filling .. then the waitress looked at me .. do you want french fries i said no i cant eat that ok you want veggies .. no i cant eat them yet ... then i go can you just give me a hand full of fries for dd .. my plate come it was covered a mile high with fries and a scoop of tuna ... so i whip out my measuring spoon took out my 4 tbs spoons and saved the rest for dinner...
My inner discussion is almost completely different because my situation is diferent but this still made me laugh. Eating out for us is strange because I am a family of 5. The waitress usually looks at us like we are super cheap because we all share 2 dinners. My 2 year old and 4 year old hardly touch their food eating even less than me, and even though my 11 year old could clear the restaurant, my husband also isn't a big eater. So my inner monologue includes having to igure out what I can eat and what they are willing to share, lol.

This is so me at Gambino's a month ago.
All their meals are "FAMILY SIZE" and lordy, that must have been some family who set the bar.
I ended up asking for meatballs.
me: I'd like the meatballs
waiter: OK, would you like garlic bread, parmesian bread or cheese bread.
me: LOL! No bread... and no spaghetti.
waiter: umm... you don't want the spaghetti with your meatballs.
me: Nope, I actually just want a couple of meat balls. Two! and a tiny little cup of marinara. Is that possible? I can't eat noodles or bread.
waiter: Oh yeah- My Aunty isn't eating carbohydrates right now either. Sure thing, not sure how much it will be but we can do something for you.
me: Thanks!!! (chuckling under my breath)
The bill came.... Hubby's pizze $12.99. My meatballs and sauce $1.50

OMG I went through that scenario for years when I was on low carb..they just don't get that I didn't want any pasta or rice or potatoes..
My daughter loves bread and rolls so I always give those to her..as a matter of fact when she was little..like under 7..she never wanted anything on the kids menu..she just wanted a basket of bread! You should have seen the looks I got when we asked for that! They must have thought I was a terrible mother, too cheap to get my kid a meal!! LOL
This was her order: "I want a basket of bread and I want my drink in a glass glass, not a plastic cup"..
Oh my, Am I glad those days are over!!

That is too funny! Sounds alot like me! Good thing your husband isn't impatient. I usually eat off my husbands plate instead of getting something of my own! LOL the first time we went out after my surgery he said he would take me out anytime I want now cause I am a real cheap date! LOL, smart tale! But true! It's very difficult in restaraunts especially if they don't honor the WLS, there are a few around here that honor it but I'm not sure they are worth going to! Anyway! Thought your post was cute wanted to comment!
