Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom Fudge Lites, 4 gm of protein and they taste like a fudgesicle.  I had a really sore throat after my anesthesia.

I was allowed cream soups if strained when I left the hospital.  I found myself craving bullion, esp. French Onion Soup.  So get some Beef Bullion or Chicken Bullion for back up.

Dry Instant Milk 1% (aka Powdered Milk), you can add that to your soups to increase the protein value.

I was also allowed sugar free applesauce, which I needed to take my meds with since my celebrex has to be opened and mixed.

Biotion--to keep your hair.  (Fingers crossed that it works since I have naturally thin hair.)

Liquid tylenol.

I don't like to keep paper records.  Just destined for me to misplace, destroy or loose.  So I joined sparkspeople.com and have an app for my phone.  It is the easiest way for me to keep my record and it's free.  I can print out a report when I see the Nut.

Put a pillow in the car for the ride home, you'll want to hug it tight to keep your belly still when you go over bumps!!  When you go in for your pre-op ask your doctor if he could make your pain meds liquid.  I had enough swelling that I couldn't swallow the pills and had to go out and get a pill crusher in the middle of the night.  Have a great surgery and we'll see ya on the bench!!

Ask your Dr. for a script for an anti-nausea med for "just in case".  I was given an oral dissolving pill that's small.  It's called Zofran  (for nausea.)  You don't want to vomit with your band.  Also make sure you have a list of what and how much you are supposed to drink/eat after surgery.  Write any questions down and make a list for your surgeon.

I used Unjury shakes at first and then found Zero Carb Isopure.  It comes in a 20 oz bottle and has 40 grams of protein.  I got tired of sweet, milky protein shakes, so the Isopure was a blessing.  I ordered it from Amazon.com and I also found them at GNC.   I like the Grape frost flavor.  (The only time I use them now is the 24 hours after a fill. )

Good Luck!

Good luck and I wish you the best for surgery! I haven't heard anything bad about Vitamin Water, but I don't drink it because I always seem to stall the day afterward. It's probably just a coincidence, but that is just me.
I made the mistake of stocking up on a ton of things I didn't use because my portion sizes shrank SOOOO much. (I have plenty of soup/broth on hand for days of adjustments still!) I could never have imagined.
And whoever said to take slip-on shoes and comfy pants is right on. Bending over was not really possible and my DH had to tie my shoes when I was leaving the hospital.
