I'm going to miss beef!

I was not told to avoid beef as others have said but I do have to be very careful that it is moist and only a small amount. You will not be sitting down to enjoy a big cheeseburger! Those days are behind you.

I eat beef but since my previous fill I can sometimes have trouble with it. If I do I just cut it in much smaller pieces and make sure I chew well and that seems to work. Also with both steak and chicken u might put it in a ziplock back and use a can to pound it before u cook it. That will make it easier to digest.

I was never advised by my surgeon or his staff not to eat beef after banding BUT I gave up eating cows (and other four legged animals) almost 2 yrs ago.

As far as restriction goes, I have noticed my portions are becoming greater since my post-op honeymoon period, now that my stomach isn't as swollen after the surgery. My first fill will be on week #7 rather then #6 due to an all girls trip I will be taking. We decided that it would be better to wait the extra week then flying and being on a beautiful resort on an all liquid diet...ugh!
I have given up daily weighing and decided to weigh in monthly.

My surgeon is always recomending you eat steak. I do eat steak at least 1 or 2 times a week but I make sure it's top quality tender cuts of beef. I figure if I am having a small portion instead of the huge portions I used to eat I can afford the best.

I was never told "no beef" either. I eat it all the time. I do make sure to get lean ground beef or I do have a little trouble from time to time. Take small bites, chew well and wait a bit before you take the next bite and you should be okay.

Now chicken is the hard one for me especially if I try to eat it as a leftover. Sad for me because before being banded I ate chicken all the time. Way more than beef. Things do change!

I have a hard time with 'steaks' , but I can enjoy flank steak. I like to marinade it and either broil (winter) or cook it on the grill. The thing is to cut it correctly. You have to cut it in thin strips against the grain.

A nice chuck roast is awesome on the grill too. the way the meat 'shredds' makes it easier for me to eat.

I love to marinade in teriyaki sauce...either of those marinaded overnight and grilled is awesome. Just make sure you dont cook the roast over direct heat cause it will burn on the outside before its cooked to temp internally.

Beef is what was for dinner last night! I am a carnivore and I have a love affair with steak. Only advice I was given was small bites (nickel sized) and chew babay chew!

Of course pre-band I could finish a 22oz porterhouse with no problem... now...I relish every loving bite of my small...(so small)... sirloin.

Only time I have had a problem with it is if I don't chew it well enough...then you get a little stucky, stuck, stuck.... but you live and learn.,

Hahaha, I am such a carnivore!!  I'm fairly sure I's perish without COW!!!  Every once in a while I'd sure kill for one of those 22oz porterhouses!!  I guess a 4oz bacon wrapped fillet is going to have to do it for me tonight, lol!!
