This diet is becoming second nature. if I cold do this diet for the rest of my life I might could avoid surgery.

But,yanno what? I can't. i found that out after 3 months of Optifast. I was so good with that stuff, never thought abut food, never wanted anything else...

Then came re feeding. 3 months of adding food back in and dropping shakes one at a time. As soon as I had to start adding in carbs,I started gaining. it was all downhill from there. I lost 80 # my first Optifast diet. i did it two more times, with varying results.

The moral of this story? I'm not sure LOL. i think the moral of the story is I hope my tiny tummy also known as "Sleevie Nicks",will allow for me to have my protein AND cake and eat them both. I am sure though that i will stay away from carbs for a while.

After all,I am already decarbed and not craving them,so why mess with success?

Breakfast shake

Lunch shake
snack diet v8 splash
dinner salad with chicken

snack protein coffee
I feel nice...do do do do do do dooo
Like sugar and spice do do do do do do  dooo

Keep going girl! We all go through surgery because we are sick of the yo-yos you are talking about. End it now!

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

It's so funny that you say that about loosing the wieght on Optifast. Whenever someone asks how i am doing on the pre op diet, I tell them pretty good so far I've lost 9 pounds in week one, they say, well why wouldnt you just do this instead of the surgery... ummmmmmmmmmm
9 pounds is a far cry from 90!!!!....
History does repeat itself, and I am going to rewrite mine!
All the best again to us in this coming week!

I know that's right! I also lost 9 # my first week on the diet and it is also a far cry for the other 150 I need to lose! I can take it off all day it is the keeping it off that I need a tool for.

I am writing my future differently than it would have been without surgery. and, yes,I'll drink to us! (broth!)

I love the Sleevie Nicks name.  I've been trying to come up with a clever one and coming up blank.  When I was going to have lapband, I was going to name it Ringo.   I may name my sleeve that, because it's going to be a "Starr" in my life.

I'm having a lot of shakiness in the mornings on this liquid diet.  I don't get the chicken like you do.  Have you had this problem?

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Yeah, optifast is certainly effective. I've lost 15 lbs already and I'm pretty sure that I'll be down 20 by the time friday rolls around. It has been much easier because my husband is doing a liquid diet with me. I don't know what I would have done if I had to cook dinner for the family and still try to be compliant. I don't have carb cravings or any cravings at all for that matter. Its a struggle to get all of my shakes in.

I know what you mean.I lost 9# the first week and have prob lost more this week. My DH wanted to have protein salad with me every night which was a big help to me,too.

We have grown children so don't have anyone else to cook for. He fixes his breakfast and lunch and I do my shakes and it works.

I'm not craving anything either. When I  do feel hunger it is time for a shake or salad and when I eat that then I'm good to go again.

This is what it feels like to be carb cleansed.I find I kinda like it. What about you?
