I have heard that it does and I must admit I do party more now then I did back in the old days.  That being said I do my best to ensure that I dont go over board.  Booze effects me much fast now than it used to so my tolerance level has dropped significantly.

I drink more now than I did before surgery yet less than I did before I was diagnosed with diabetes. I read this article and think that it could have been better. Anyone *****ads up on this surgery knows that you are at a risk of having cross addictions. I wonder how bad it would be if they were to do a study on shoppping addicton after surgery.

What I found super interesting was that they were saying that it's not necessarily just transference issues. There may actually be physiological reasons that people with WLS become alcoholics.

I have to agree that drinking is much more fun now that it used to be. A half-glass of wine and I am high. It is silly actually. I am not worried about addiction though as I only indulge about once per week. The last thing I need in my life is another addiction.

I used to drink quite a bit when I was a young adult. I quit before I had kids. I would have a few drinks at Christmas and maybe once or twice while camping, but I never got drunk. Now it's WAY too easy to get drunk..I limit myself now. I hate hangovers. I would much rather go to bed and wake up happy..LOL

I can't imagine what drinking with RNY would be like, the VSG is bad enough!
