I went to the chiro a week ago and he did a stretch on my right leg that he has been doing for year. Just as he went to stretch I felt a pop and a jabbing pain in my stomach. He figured it was the muscle flipping over my rib. I feel fine and anothing has changed in bowel movements but the pain in crazy. I am not sure if I should be going to the dr or not. I have found even taking muscle relaxers it doesn't help.
I sure hope they find out soon what is bothering you...
Take care

I have been having pain on my right side for the past 5 months.they cant figure out what is causing the pain.i have been hospitalized 2 times already resulting in 2 surgeries.
as for the bbgc it is a facebook group called bariatric bad girls club.it is a great group of people who. Are at various stages of weight loss surgery.they will answer any questions as honestly and truthfully as patients.
Hi Sondra. Dena here. Sorry your not feeling well. What problems are you having? What is the BBGC fourm. Sorry for asking so many questions. I hope you feel better soon.
Yay! OF course the body seems to really like certain weights. I don't seem to have an issue maintaining at 195 but losing is tough. Right now tougher then I want it. So I maintain and will hopefully put my mind to losing in a bit
I'm glad that you are getting some nutrition in you ... you really need it! Hopefully you won't still be there on The 15 th but if you are I will come and see you with all my bandages and drain in my neck ( I'm thinking I just will be one night)
Not sure how that will work then. I had my first set of appointments in June, second in August and consult with the surgeon on October 25th. You usually see the team 2 months after your first appointment and then you get your referral to the surgeon. I didn't have to return to work on any goals as I met them all in the timeframes given..I was supposed to see the surgeon last Friday but it was postponed as the Dr took holidays.
When I asked when I might have surgery I was told Nov/Dec.

October 15th will be my first round of appointments with the team. So far I've only been to the orientation back in June. I have started keeping my food diary to bring to the October 15th meeting as I understand that is something they want to see.
Thanks Karen. I edited my original post as actually the workshops are part of the Provincial Eating Disorders Program which is run out of the Women's Health Clinic on Graham Avenue. I also linked the web addresses.
Hopefully MBHealth will adopt a community based program like Alberta's Weight Wise in the future. This is open to anyone in the province and as I am in the bariatric program in Edmonton, I have also taken most of the workshops.
It not just meant for bariatric patients though, there were 'overweight' people, 'normal weight' people, as well as a gentleman with diabetes who were all attending for the excellent information Weight Wise provides.
Recently there's been a couple of posts about information sessions and the lack of same until December, as well as who such sessions are open to.
For anyone not eligible to attend these sessions as well as anyone else that may be interested, the Provincial Eating Disorders Prevention & Recovery Program offers evening and Saturday workshops in October/November such as Why Diets Don't Work, Body Image, Coping with the Holidays, Families and Friends (support for those with eating disorders), and others on emotional eating, etc.
These are located at the Women's Health Clinic in Winnipeg and are open for men to attend. http://www.womenshealthclinic.org/eatingdisorders
Also if you need nutritional help - speak to your family doctor. You can be referred to a dietician. The WRHA runs workshops on cholesterol and nutrition.
As well you can get support from Overeaters Anonymous - they are in the phonebook and online and have meetings on almost every day of the week. These are people struggling with food addictions and included everyone from bulimics to the obese. They understand what its like to have an eating disorder from personal experience.
I have mentioned it before but for anyone that had missed my previous thread, I also recommend Dr. Sharma's Obesity Notes http://www.drsharma.ca/ You can read backdated blog posts as they are archived.
