I am done all my appointments at the clinic. I just need to see Jillian for the pre op diet when I get a date. Andrea told me November/December for surgery. Just getting tired of my dates being changed, like I have a life too. I have work riding my ass as to when I might be off. I am trying to schedulte craft shows as I sell Steeped Tea at them, and know have to worry about winter driving when my Mom comes down to watch my son for a couple of days when I have surgery.
It just makes no sense to me why someone I know who was a month ahead of me in orientation etc has already had surgery and I am still sitting here, not even having seen the surgeon.. Something is wrong with this system. She was able to phone and get a date, Andrea says no date til you see the surgery. If you do it for one, then you do it for all.
I hope they never called to change mine!. I have an appt on the 26th. I also have not been home to know if they called. Aggh!!!! They already changed the date once and I had to change my time of work. I hope it doesn't happen again. So you must be going for your 4 appts as well in Oct? They told you that you would have surgery about 2 months later?
There are 3 surgeons but 2 are married to each other and she is off on mat leave and he is taking holidays because of the baby. I totally understand that but if they knew he was planning vacation, they should not have booked appointments, it just seems unfair that I have to wait another 3 weeks. Andrea basically said it was October 25th or later...

Yes all of us working humans earn and deserve time off, however, it would seem this must have been a last minute booking off as your original appointment is only three weeks away. Most docs know long in advance when they want time off and no appointments get booked for that time. Having said that is there only one surgeon in the bariatric program? I don't know what's all involved with these appointments but couldn't one of the others squeezed you in?
So sorry Karen...it is so frustrating when you have already waited soooooo long. Before you know it though you will be packing for surgery and never looking back. Hang it there girl! kj

So I just need to vent about something and I know you guys will understand.
I was supposed to see the surgeon on October 4th for my consult. Today after booking hubby's cardiologist appointment for the same day, Andrea phones and cancels my appointment until Oct. 25th because the Dr is going on holidays! Don't get me wrong, yes they are human and yes they deserve holidays but it ticks me off that once again my appointments are being moved. This happed with the clinic and my follow up appointment.
I guess I am more disappointed than anything, because I have already waited over 3 years for this and know we will be looking at winter driving for surgery.Just so tired of waiting....
Then I tried to get an estimation of when I would have surgery and got between November and December. I have work on my case as to when I will be off and I am trying to decide which Christmas sales to do with my Steeped Tea, so that answer really didn't help me make any decisions.
Good thing I have to walk Dwayne to piano tonight, I can burn off some anger...

Dr Ponce de Leon Mexico VSG 4 Jun 12. I lost 57 lbs on my own before having a VSG. This is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself.
Great news Kim, I am glad to hear your going home. Lets hope you are 100% fixed up this time. Michelle too, sorry you have to have more surgery lets hope they get it all this time. See you all at the meet and greet. I will bring some veggies
