You should see about your Dr. referring you to another province who might have the expanded criteria or there is always the Mexico route. There are some dam fine programs in Mexico and the wait list is very short. Self pay sucks but even going to another province with end up costing you alot of travel, etc. I had my surg in wpg but by the time I added up all my expenses for all my gas, hotels,etc. it almost equals a trip to Mexico - bahaha.... geez
Tracking your meals and nutrition using MyFitnessPal or another web site is a must. I'd suggest finding ways to increase your activity that works given your health. Swimming works for me. I'd recommend speaking with your doctor first before starting a fitness program.

Why can't they put you on the list for when criteria expands? and with co-morbidities you would think you would be a shoe in.
No, it;s just the age thing. I just turned 60 in April. I have 2 GP's, respiratory and a heart doctor on my side. My weight gain is doctor induced because of my medication.

Hi Shelly. I don't know what your age is.......I'm 55 now, so not sure what age they have opened up the program to. Does your doc say there is any other reason but age?

Hey Trish, I'd really like to have some one to "learn" with! It would be nice to be able to talk, vent, commiserate with some one at the same place in this process!
That is wonderful and I am so happy for you! Just think after the surgery, you'll have a better quality of life.
I keep getting denied because of my age but I'm going keep on trying. Do you have any suggestion?
